It has come to my attention that most of the players here tend to make suggestions that only somehow affect the gameplay experience while neglecting a very important part of it - the history of the MechWarrior universe. Assuming that the game makes a complete reboot of the title, might be really important for newcomers, and possibly even oldschool BattleTech fans, to get a reliable source of information about the universe, technologies, characters and other stuff, approved by both developers and community.
But that's not the main problem that bothers me. Thing is, BattleTech universe is not that popular in Russia, Ukraine and countries like that (i'm from Ukraine, particularly), at least as far as i know. While Warhammer 40k, Warhammer, WarCraft and other universes do have a huge community with dozens of constantly evolving and expanding websites, it would be a good move for MechWarrior Online to create a basis for such community in a pre-release status, allowing the players to get "warmed up" before the start itself. At this moment, the most popular games in russian segment are World of Tanks, World of Warcraft, SWTOR(tends to be very popular between expirienced MMO-players). The histories of these universes are widely available - World of Tanks especially.
So, i would like to ask the developer team not to hesitate and contact me (or any other russian-speaking players that are willing to help the project) in purpose of translating the important pieces of game information (that the developers assume as important, not just the moderators of russian subforums) and spreading it in russian communities.
Of course, i understand that in far-far future, when it will come to game release, the team will have a full-time job offers for people to do this work, but right now i don't mind against translating just for the community. After all, who knows, maybe someday i will be that guy on a full-time job (:
