ER Micro Laser:
Very little point in using these, as most mechs don't have the hardpoints to boat them, those that do use ERSLs instead. DPS is painfully low considering the extra face-time over the ERSL, duration is painfully long for the mediocre damage, heat is acceptable I suppose, since it's low enough that it'll never pose a problem for most builds, but I can lower it further to keep the HPS lower than the ERSL.
Proposed changes:
Mass: 0.25 tons
Slots: 1
Damage: 2.6
Burn time: 0.75 -> 0.5
Cooldown: 2.25 -> 1.5
Recycle: 3 -> 2
DPS: 0.87 -> 1.3
Heat: 1.7 -> 1.3
HPS: 0.57 -> 0.65
Optimal range: 150 meters
Max range: 300 meters
Considering the extra face-time needed over the ERSL, I thought that both of them having identical DPS would make the ERMcL somewhat of a worthy choice over the ERSL. A burn-time of 0.5 allows for the damage to be easy to focus on a single location. Evidently these stats make it completely superior to the isSL, but that's due to PGI's reluctance to make IS small-class lasers comparable to their clan counterparts.
Micro Pulse Laser:
Completely worthless, considering the fact it has less DPS than the ERSL, a weapon in the same weight class, despite having less than half it's range. Being a pulse laser, it should possess by far the highest DPS within its tonnage bracket, which in this case is the ERSL and the HSL.
Proposed changes:
Mass: 0.5 tons
Slots: 1
Damage: 3
Burn time: 0.5 -> 0.35
Cooldown: 1.9 -> 1.4
Recycle: 2.4 -> 1.75
DPS: 1.25 -> 1.71
Heat: 1.7 -> 1.2
HPS: 0.71 -> 0.69
Optimal range: 90 -> 110 meters
Max range: 180 -> 220 meters
The goal for McPLs is to make them a higher DPS, lower HPS alternative to ERSLs, with which it shares a weight class. A DPS of 1.71 brings a noticeable DPS boost of the ERSL, the burn-time of 0.35 makes it deal its 3 damage almost instantly, which hopefully makes this a scalpel.
Alternate idea:
Mass: 0.5 tons
Slots: 1
Damage: 0.18
Burn time: 0.1
Cooldown: 0.1
DPS: 1.8
Heat: 0.1
HPS: 1
Optimal range: 110 meters
Max range: 220 meters
An alternate idea is turning the McPL into a laser machine-gun, which gives it impressive DPS for its weight, and gives a very distinct role over the ERSL and HSL.
Heavy Small Laser:
The HSL struggles to find a meaningful role over the ERSL, without even considering its terrible stats at the moment, for gaining 1 extra point of damage, you give up half the range (why?), a longer burn-time, much higher heat, and, despite all that, less DPS.
Proposed changes:
Mass: 0.5 tons
Slots: 1
Damage: 6
Burn time: 1.2 -> 0.9
Cooldown: 3.9 -> 3.1
Recycle: 5.1 -> 4
DPS: 1.18 -> 1.5
Heat: 4.25 -> 3.75
HPS: 0.83 -> 0.94
Optimal range: 100 -> 150 meters
Max range: 180 -> 300 meters
These are quite substantial buffs, burn-time is noticeably shorter, heat is more bearable, DPS is made a bit higher than the ERSL's (much better damage/tick though) and range is normalized to the isSL as it should be. The HSL now is a much more potent weapon within close range than the ERSL, as you get substantially higher damage/tick, which allows you to better turn away and spread incoming damage without disrupting you capability to deal damage.
Heavy Medium Laser:
It's getting there, but the burn-time is still slightly off, and the cooldown is uncomfortably long, it needs to have a burn-time worthy of its heat.
Proposed changes:
Mass: 1 ton
Slots: 2
Damage: 10
Burn time: 1.45 -> 1.35
Cooldown: 5.15 -> 4.75
Recycle: 6.6 -> 6.1
DPS: 1.52 -> 1.65
Heat: 8
HPS: 1.21 -> 1.32
Optimal range: 270 meters
Max range: 540 meters
Now the burn-time is just right for the heat and range, a cycle-time reduction of half a second makes the weapon feel less awkward overall, and makes it more useful on lighter mechs than can only carry a few.
Heavy Large Laser:
Much like the HML, the HLL's burn time is just a bit too long and the atrocious cycle-time makes it feel cumbersome.
Proposed changes:
Mass: 4 tons
Slots: 3
Damage: 16
Burn time: 1.55 -> 1.45
Cooldown: 6 -> 5.1
Recycle: 7.55 -> 6.55
DPS: 2.12 -> 2.44
Heat: 17
HPS: 2.25 -> 2.595
Optimal range: 450 meters
Max range: 900 meters
At a burn-time of 1.45, the HLL has an identical damage/tick to the 2 ton heavier LPL, which, mixed with a cycle time a full second shorter, gives it astounding brawling performance within its range, enough to warrant its insane HPS.

some good ideeas tough the cooldowns of heavy lasers and theyre duration need be lowered even more to make them a viable weapon compared to the er clan lasers we allready have

DPS preferably shouldn't exceed pulse lasers since you're paying more tonnage or less range for them. The cooldown I decided on is long enough to account for the heavy lasers' insane damage/weight, without feeling glacially slow like they are now.
