to make the MRM unique, it should leave the barrel at a slow velocity, and after 0.75 sec it should accelerate into a STAGE2 velocity.

maybe the first stage should be seeking.

the max range would be 750 meters.

minimum arming dist would be 90 m, like ppc.





what would this accomplish?

-it would differenciate mrm from LRM, because they would be more difficult to avoid around
a corner due to the faster speed of the missile.

-unlike the arc of a lrm which goes in an arch from a to b, this would be more like an L shape,
it leaves the tubes, turns to face the target, and accelerate insanely. the different arc would be good to fire suppresively.

-it would make the MRM not impossible to hit stuff with at medium ranges which is it's actual role. if it had the speed of a srm it would take too long to get there. if it had the speed of a lrm, it would be a badly ranged lrm and it would definitely need to seek its target.
making it accelerate in 2 stages to a very high speed means it's not ppc levels of fast, but
it's a close, staggered option at poking distance versus the laservomit that tends to dominate medium range confrontation.

-it would probably be a needed nerf to the missile system if it needed locks to be shot,
but at the same time also kind of benefits due to their seeking nature, due to mrm having large numbers of tubes like lrm. shooting around corners would not be as good as with lrm however because they only use locks to aim themselves and become dumb fire in stage 2.

edit-
-also it would make the MRM a weapon that is lock on, but also fire and forget, you could just shoot the missiles and twist because the lock on is not needed past launch. this would also be needed to make it a feasible mid range weapon against laser boating.

i hope this will be considered, humbly.


also please don't make current weapons obsolete in civil war update. it should remain a choice so the game is expanded.
not just move the used items to a slightly different palette and milk that until stale.
if the game is actually expanded by player choice that would mean better player retention

I like this idea for atms, personally think mrms are in a good spot though
