Hellbringer is one of my favorites. What's your build? Also, what would you consider to be your weapon of choice?

Yeah, I can see that. The tiering system should be helping that, but I also know for a fact that people down tier on purpose for easier fodder. It may be that we need to add a fixed pilot level system that doesn't allow you to "de-level". They should probably set up cadet pilots vs bots games to introduce new pilots to the game modes, and hand out some healthy cbill rewards. There are good mechs to be had for cbills only. Adding the academy stuff was a good start, but maybe some bot or npc modes would help prepare people for the queues.

Greetings !

The HBR is the prime: AMS, ECM, 2 ERLL, 3 MpL and a Streak 6.... Full mobility and a mix of other skill to include Radar dep. Weapons of choice? I like this mech and would love to form a small team of 3 of these variants with slightly different loadouts.... A hunter-killer team.

I never have had a PUG match in the new HBR over 400......even assuming I lived throught the entire match.... I stopped mastering the mech and spent the GXP and finished it. A significant improvement but, still not able to break a 400 damage a game in PUG.

I've played a lot over the past 5 months, as some have commented, and I'm not incompotent at this game..... But, no matter what I can do, 900 damage in a HBR is never going to happen. In lights, even less..... The only 900 games I've ever seen were pre-skill tree in my LRM Gyr's working right behind the mechs on the FLOT......

So, imagine yourself as a NOOB: 12-0 loss; 12-2 Loss;........4 hours later, the string of Losses continues and you are averaging 150 per game.... When will I finish.........ah, that's weeks away............and, I just can't see how this is a positive environment?

The thread is about how to keep the new pilot's from leaving? Remember, many of us bought mech packs BEFORE we tried the game.........

400 damage is good enough for kills in HBR. 600 is very good. 800 and above is exceptional for any mech. Just aim for 4x-5x your tonnage should be an average for new players. If you can consistently do 400 damage, then at least 1 kill per game shouldn't be a problem. But your kdr is pretty low, so something is off there.

Anyway been farming with HBR-F (L) recently as it has a 30% cbill bonus. Playing it as a support/brawler mech, not a face tanker. 6 mpl or 7 mpl with less heat sinks, minimal ams, ecm. Max survival, zero mobility, max radar derp & ecm. 2x coolshot & 1x uav. Sensitivity from 0.1 to 0.3 ingame, then further adjust using mouse dpi. Btw my ping is 240 in NA server which I play the most, 340 in EU. I've seen good players stream where they had 30ms in NA and the low ping definately helps them a lot.

PS: do note match score is not exactly damage/2. Just did 600 damage with hbr and 400 match score. Other things like uavs count too etc.
PS2: You guys might like to start farming cbills for the new tech coming out soon.

Ok. Two ERLL = 20 damaged ranged punch. 3 MPL + SSRM6 = 33 damage medium to short range punch. That's not bad, but those SSRM have a long cooldown. I like SSRMs too, for getting that gut punch on a light mech, but that cooldown makes a single SSRM less friendly. Also, there is that weight. 3 tons could be two dumbfire SRM6 launchers if you use an HBR-B right torso.

Try this:
HBR-B right torso, HBR-A left arm / Leave the rest
Try 2 x ER LL + one ER PPC on your arms.
2x SRM6 right torso
3x ER ML + ECM left torso
Add two tons SRM ammo + heat sinks and armor to suit.
In other words, if you can manage the heat well, then max your armor and add extra ammo instead of heatsink.

That's 77 firepower in a 65 ton mech with ECM. It does 87kph with max speed tweak, which isn't bad. 2 ERLL + ERPPC = 30 damage ranged punch, 3 ERML+ 2SRM6 = 45 damage mid to short range punch. You can get more than 400 with that build. If you hate the PPC take an extra ERLL + ammo or heatsink.

Couldn't hurt population of people joined for player vs bot, apparently league has a large player vs bot population.
Standard maps, 12 players ( just first come first serve, groups grab any solos after trying to combine/look for other groups after 1 minute) vs 3 bot lances of stock Mechs, 3049+ bot varients only. Basic rules as pvp, but payout is by time, faster win = more payout. Win by game mode = more pay then blowing all 12 bots, but bots can be programmed to do anything to keep the round challenging, be it start out derping in place to a dire somehow out maneuvering the locust trying to solo all the bots :3

I mean there are enough Doom and gloom thoughts on mw5 but at least they could use it to practice making bots worth playing Against
