Please please please do not ghost heat tax three AC/10s... We all know the Annihilator is dropping soon, and PGI is performing in-house testing on some GH threshold for 10-class Autocannons.

The Anni can bring 4, but the Ilya Muromets can bring three. Please let the Ilya fire 3 without tax, and just add a heavy GH tax for the 4th gun if a GH tax is, indeed, warranted. Don't nerf the Cataphract Hero, it doesn't really need a nerf. Adding a GH tax at just the fourth AC/10 would be sufficient to deter 4x AC/10 without affecting other chassis that don't need it.

Please?

Given that PGI is giving Ghost Heat to even dinky little Micro Lasers (cap of 8, aka 20.8 damage), you can bet your bacon that the AC/10 could end up on the chopping block at any time just like any other weapon.

That does it.

According to the PGI Law of Inverse Responsiveness ghost heat on AC10's will now start at 2.

The Kodiak vs. Anni isn't quite an equal comparison because of stuff like mounting height (!!!), hitboxes, and the overall tech bases.

That won't stop them, though.

They shouldn't ghost heat anything. It's a stupid mechanic that adds nothing to the game.

I am much more concerned about ghost heat on UAC20.
An removing the UAC jam chance reduction on the MAL-2P. 100 alpha anybody?

Good news is PGI doesnt read the forum anyway Posted Image
For once this is a good thing.

There shouldn't be any ghost heat on any of the regular IS autocannons whatsoever, if you ask me.

Weeelll...

Two PPC's is 20 damage, and they're ghost-heated if you add a third. AC10's have a higher refire rate, and lower heat, to compensate for their increased tonnage.

I mean, they didn't let the AWS fire three PPCs, and that's not even a hero. Given there aren't really any other 3xAC10 machines, I suspect that they aren't going to let the Ilya stand in their way of the 2x limit.

There should be. Especially on the 10s and 20s.

PPFLD needs to be kept in check.

And they need to do something about Gauss/PPC. I think all gauss and all PPCs should be linked in the same ghost heat group.

what are you going to replace it with?

I agree ghost heat sucks. But you cant just remove it without replacing it with something better.

You cant just go back to letting mechs alpha all their weapons because thats not balanced or fun.

my ctf-im took a performance hit with the skill trees. its like i cant get the same scores out of it i used to be able to. further ac10 nerfage is just nuts. also the ani is going to be well above the gh threshold to keep the ac10 in check. sort of like what happened with the kodiak, the 2x10+2x5 build replacing the 4x10 build. also i should point out the im is getting a small buff in the form of being able to drop the xl for an lfe.
