what gives with jacking the price up 250 more MC for something that old?

Maybe they're going with the market system of pricing them two times higher and having 50% off sales often.

If you think the warhorns are expensive you should have seen the prices on gold clan mechs.

ya I seen them and in a Email asking about the $500 kit fox. it only pays for digital gold paint and a kit fox. but the point is why is PGI upping the price on some a old warhorn unless they plan on doing what monkey lover said. and sadly I cant put it past PGI to do something like that

Here's an idea for PGI to build huge community good will:

Cockpit item swap event.

1 to 1 trade in for any CP item of equal value. Could even make it contingent on playing a god damn CW drop so as to bump the population: Play a CW match and get a sufficient score and then get authorized to trade in any single CP item for any other CP item of equal value.

Give players a chance to dump their stupid sundaes and strawberry waffles for, well, anything.

They give stuff for free all the time now, so they probably think they need to increase prices to compensate.

Which in my opinion is the wrong way. I have a hundred and sixty mech, it would cost 500US to kit all my mech with ONE 750mc item. 1.5k$us for the three cockpit slot! So i never buy any cockpit item or mc. Make them 75mc like pattern and suddenly i just might start buying those fans i like or the bonsai or the Halloween warhorn for the mech i play. I just might run out of MC that is given at event and buying some MC might not be impossible anymore.

It feel like, the cheaper things are, the easier it would be to get a snowball effect. Especially on new players. They just got their first few mech, if for 7us they can completely customise their new mech, paint, pattern, all cockpit slot and decals to boot, then they get attach more to their mech and the game and then want more?

Sigh! <smh>

$500 was for all Clan wave 1 Mechs and 1 gold one of your choice.

Considering they have stated they would "slow mech development", they gotta pay the bills somehow..

Taking into account they are giving away LOTS of free vanity stuff, more so than any other online F2P game I've ever played, I don't mind much..

I only ever bought 1 warhorn for MC anyway, and yet almost all my mechs are fully decked-out and customized..

A fact I simply LOVE about MWO.. it truly is FREE 2 PLAY.

"Sorry about that. There's a slight... 'market shift' unfolding in Clan space currently. These new prices are solely to ensure that our products will maintain their trademark quality, and fast, reliable shipping. Apologies for the inconvenience."

Well a couple of things like

1)Maybe its a mistake. I would say this is the best option if you ask me as PGI makes so many mistakes its not even funny.

2They are trying to make some extra money where they can because of the lower population and everyone is leaving due to mismanagement of the game and just faded away from the game. This would net some profit not alot but some due to the fact that someone wants a warhorn and only has 790 mc and now has to purchase a $7.00 to get 1200mc. Its not much but over time and enough you can make some money on a business standpoint.

3)A new way or something different of how the cost system will be in the future because most people play clan mechs and well if your majority base plays clan mechs why not up the cost of warhorns?

Just some thoughts

So it begins

If not enough people buy mechs then they have to find revenue in other places.

This increase is to pay for them folding on the standard pack premium pricing.

I'm certainly not going to be critical of them doing this, because they need to pay staff and keep the lights on, and this is a lot fairer then putting premium time out the reach of people that want to support the game, and want to buy mechs that can't afford the collectors price.

Bottom line is unless they get cheaper hardware, prices are going to have to increase, or services will degrade.

Raising the price of optional cosmetic items is perfectly fine with me, PGI have to pay their bills after all. However, raising ANY prices without prior announcement does not sit well with me. Players have their own business plans, you know - like saving MC to buy a specific item, and such unpredictable price fluctuations can throw those plans out of the window.

only Clanwave 1 Prime variants were available as Gold KHANMechs for a while.
(They came with 1 Goldmech and a Masakari Collection (Ultimate pack for Wave 1))

They have been removed from the store and you cant get them anymore.

Even during giveaways on streams Goldmechs are always excluded.
