kindve doubt a mech would even fit in a biodome
new maps id like to see:
1) megacity urban map (whole map is just one big city divided into city blocks, no large open areas except for maybe a central park area)
2) kurita monastery (built on top of a mountain, lots of cliffs, broken bridges, tunnels running through and spiraling up the mountain, and lots of verticle fighting and jumpjet exploits)
new gamemodes id like to see:
union dropship defense mode (assymetrical attacker/defender gamemode where one team has to attack a union dropship and the other team has to defend it until it refuels. there would be fuel depots that would increase the rate of refueling that would also have to be protected.

mechs would just be dropped off in the middle of space and float around aimlessly. youd have to fire your weapons or use jumpjets in order to move around.
as stupid as that is it would still be better than polar highlands

Every time I play Vitric, I keep silently wondering if that planet could even exist, with that blue giant so close. Some resident astrophysicist could probably do the math based on the apparent size and colour of the star.
Color indicates O or early B class star (read about 50 solar masses and 15 solar radii). Angular size idticates total distance.
Now math.
Solar angular size is 1 degree. Vitric central star angular size is something 20-30 degrees. Thus, taking into account the differents in star radius the Vitric is 4.5 times closer to the star than Earth to the Sun. Yes, 0.22 AU or just around 100 Ls (for those who play Elite Dangerous

Bolometric luminosity of such star is around 30 thousand that of a Sun (at least, can be more). Thus local star constant on the Vitric orbit is 4.5*4.5*30000 about 600 000 that of a solar constant or just 830 MW per square meter. The surface temprature of the atmosphereless (and how the hell that can be kept at those tempereatures and under extreme star winds that can errode blow away liltosphere...) Vitric is 28 times more than that of a sunlit Moon surface (100 C = 373K). So around 10 000 C which is higher than the temperature of Sun visible surface (photosphere) and well above the melting point of any material known (more than that, that temperature is higher than the temprature at whic chemical bond can exist). So the existence of anything at those distances from such a star is impossible.
BTW, moving Vitric away from the star (shrink that sun to a blinding dot) won't help. The O and B class stars are very short lived and go supernova well before the planetary system can form in the dust cloud around a star if such a cloud wouldn not be blown away by the stars severe wind.
So nope, that landscape is a pure fantasy based on the artists own thoughts on what a 'supa-cool thingy' the space a draw is, rather than on anything anywhere around reality. But this is a game and it's Ok.

Sure they could.
Waiting for the airlocks to cycle would be annoying though.
OTOH, you could have the entire battlefield INSIDE a biodome. How cool would it be to look up and see an actual glass and steel lattice ceiling?

That being said I got a 7 kill 1000pts damage game yesterday in conquest in my nova prime yesterday on polar.
Now why now have the horizon much closer (curve of the moon) like 600M. Im not sure if the map technology could handle this.

That actually wouldn't be against canon, the WOB did their whole sneak attack thing (including posing as the famous 21st Centauri Lancers) to take Terra away from Comstar, though it's kinda late for the timeline as it happened before the FC civil war.

Polar highlands is bad enough. TTK is only good on that map because it takes a year to get to poke hill.

It is true that we still don't have a moon-like, no atmosphere open map.. We have a few snow maps like that, but no moon..
Some deep craters and canyons would give plenty of cover, but the map would be kinda like Polar highlands. That is not inherently bad, since Polar is one of the more favored maps. Some variety in the open map department would be nice..
I would not mind if the map was heat-neutral or even hot like Vitric, if it was open enough..
I know LRM haters will hate it as much as polar.. at least it would not be a derp-fest like HPG..
The fact of the matter is, we need many new maps of all types in general..

biodomes are for people not mechs, so why would you even design biodomes so mechs can fit in them. doesnt make much sense.

Biodomes could in theory be huge, containing entire colonies.
It'd be cool. It wouldn't have to affect the game play in any way, but you could use the dome as a backdrop element in some future map, like the city map we've been asking for.

How about an old wrecked biodome? Like a cross between river city and bog, urban but overgrown.
