It gets hilarious. I get more damage from air/arti strikes then from other weapons. Counted last game. I had to dodge more then 13 strikes!!! PGI plz stop that nonsense and find another cbill sink. it's no fun at all.

Only 13 or so? Players are slacking.

Seriously, it's "free" damage in terms of tonnage/crits/whatever. If you have Cbills to burn, why wouldn't you?

I for one like it. I also think company commander should have the ability to position a strike on the map within a certain distance of their mech, lance commanders, and NARC/TAGed enemies.

Am I vindictive? Maybe, but it would probably mitigate murder balls a touch and make it much riskier to hold a static position.

I'm not really a fan of the air strikes TBH.

Most I've seen in one game was 23 strikes... I was the only one left standing by the end of it.... Only 'cause I had the common sense to run like hell when I saw the red smoke start to fly.

I am getting a bit tired of it all to be honest. 1-2 here and there, not really a problem. 1-2 going off every 30 seconds, well it gets mighty annoying after a while.

Yeah, i have been hit for 20 percent of my health multiple times.. seems a strange we dont have an air stike incoming warning or anything.

My favorite is when your running along and no explosion sounds or any explosions in your proximity yet you recieve damage.

Does all damage recieved usually make a sound or make the red markers pop up? Idk seems like i take phantom damage sometimes..

There is also times when i hear the strike explosions but take no damage. So i guess its even..

I think its a good and useful addition to the game.

The only thing that could be changed is global and local cooldown.

Make spamming of strikes no longer possible, but changing strikes in general I dont see why.

We do, it's the smoke that shows up... also if you look skyward sometimes you can spot the areo-fighter before it drops it's payload... look for two contrails and a moving black spec.

Problem is, new player have no cbill to burn. They get bombed by the old players that swim in cbill. They will quit after standing in the bomb rain.

You know as well as i do that there is ways to hit entire lances of mechs by placing the air strike behind cover without them seeing the red smoke..

yeah I agree with OP...its a little ridiculous and I don't normally say things like that.

My biggest problem is that I remain in Thermal vision a lot of the match and you can't see the smoke.

well properly aimed air strikes can hurt lots, but those are rare,
i usually bring 2Strikes on my LCT, i usually only use 1, if i dont get a good shot i dont use them,
those that just spam Strikes usually dont get good hits, a badly placed Strike is easy to avoid,

that said, it really does comedown to your situational awareness,
even a LCT can take 2Strikes(@45m) and still have some Armor left, even with Full Strike Tree,

keep an eye out for red smoke, Dodge, and dont get caught in the moment, ;)

- unlimited range
- target not required
- LOS not required
- hit target behind obstacle

um i can agree with the Unlimited Range,
but many weapons in MWO dont require a Target(or Target Lock) to fire,
LOS may not be required but you usually have to see your target to get good hits, else your just waisting the Strike,
yes they can hit behind an obstacle but in most cases your losing more damage into the obstacle then into the target,
personally im more worried about getting hit with Dual Gauss, then an Atry(7secs of red smoke before Strike hits)
