This is something I didn't want to say, but honestly this little post on the forums will help me sleep at night. It needs to be said.
Pilots need to stop being afraid to take some shots.
Pilots need to stop playing the game like cowards, and hide behind mountains and buildings for five minutes before deciding to see the other side of the map.
A moment of reality here, these are all just pixels. If your mech gets hit, no one actually gets hurt! Mind blowing right? I spent the last three games watching assault mechs hide until lights or mediums would dare poke their naked heads out. UNACCEPTABLE!
I would really like to see the community step out of this cowardice mindset of "Please don't hit me" into a fierce predator, where pilots don't have to wait for people to fully exhuast their LRM builds before they decide, "Oh, hey, I guess I have to PVP now, in this PVP game..."
Salty? Yes. As an aggressive player I am, who wouldn't be when being forced into this position? And people will call me a suicider, if I dare try to initiate a push.
So, pilots. Get out there. Get nasty. And stop hiding behind a flippin' mountain!

Play assertive, people. Play with confidence. Stop hiding behind teammates that are doing all the work to steal kills. Stop running only LRM boats, if you're struggling to aim, there is training grounds and lots of tutorials and people willing to help. Stop the distorted attitude that cowardice is somehow patience, it's not, they are two different things.
Enough with the Private Uphams. Play like real MechWarriors. Please!!!

This is just a game.........and, a silly game at that; with pre-teens driving 100 ton vehicles and giggling as they do so...

But I've definitely read posts where people talk about letting their kids play a few rounds, etc.
I mean, this is a relatively old IP that we're playing a game with... I'd reckon this is one of the older, on average, communities that I've gamed around.
PS - Most teens would crush middle aged gamers in FPS games these days, fwiw.

Just for the record, I do agree with the sentiment of your post but calling people cowards when the account you are posting on doesnt register for the vast majority of seasons played on the leaderboards makes me wonder.

It's added a tremendous amount of negative reinforcement. So did the boost to maximum alphas, with general TTK reduction.

Getting shot at is a bad strategy. Try again.

We have armor to allow things like trading (ideally to one's advantage) or so we don't simply drop dead while repositioning and someone dinks you with a Gauss rifle.
The problem lies when you're afraid to risk your own damage to attempt inflicting disproportionate damage on your opponent.

I'm at least pretty vocal about shutting down a bad idea, but it still happens.
As pointed out, account is probably an alt. But if we follow this accounts stats, OP definitely stupid pushes often on this account.
By the way, I'm a pretty aggressive pilot. Best feeling in the game is routing an enemy team so bad their players start panic twisting and can't shoot back.

Too many players still don't understand that torso-twisting is an essential survival strategy. Yes, getting shot at is generally bad and should be avoided, but controlling where you get shot allows you to move a lot more aggressively. There are of course mechs and loadouts that are not made for this playstyle, so you can't expect them to lead the charge.
I always like when players announce their loadout at the start, then I know what I'm dealing with. Why can't we target our allies to see their loadouts? It can't be a team damage think, cuz I can gauss my buddies just fine as is.
They key is communication. And by that I do not mean, and I can't stress that enough, smack-talking your team after the game went sideways. You know these people? Whole match was silent, loss is imminent, and suddenly someone starts explaining how and why everyone but them was bad? If they knew so much better, why didn't they speak up before?
And I think we've all been there, we pushed, the team hung back and we died alone. And now you're mad at your team, maybe you're even calling them names. But see, they've been there, in that same spot, first one to die. So they've learned, that moving alone is suicide, and they'd rather have someone else take the lead. Can't blame them.
Tell people what you're doing. Move as a team. And be jovial, seriously. Salt is bad for winning, period. A team with a good vibe is much more likely to work together and play assertively. Go waste some fools!
