I don't hate this. Will be interested to see how it plays out, especially with HPPCs being properly powered and properly hot.

HPPCs(assuming full 15Damage) are ganna be great,

IS-ERPPC Velocity Buff will help as well, wondering if instead of seeing GaussX2 we will start seeing Gauss + ERPPC?
as both go about the same Speed now, and are linked Head wise it may become an interesting combo,

still un sure about LBX 20 being 11 Slots still, not sure how it will be used,
also it seems they reduced the Ammo/Ton to 7(same as other AC20s) as it(&C-LBX20) were 10Ammo/Ton in the PTS,

Good! And I say that as a MCII owner, cause too much PPFLD is bad news for game balance.

Whoa! I did not expect that!

Still, I wish we had a better alpha limiting mechanic than stupid ghost heat...

Well maybe this will lead to certain mechs getting buffed after they were nerfed cause this one build made them look op, in certain situations.

Really its not going to change much. You just fire the ppc half second later. The whole reason you use gauss+ppc was due to heat.

If you can aim its not going to matter all that much. It will still be used.

wishful thinking, since PGI's track record is once they nerf, it takes over a year (if ever, see Victor) to undo

Well im happy. Ive been asking for them to link Gauss and PPC in the same ghost heat group for months.

Because that change doesnt prevent you from using Gauss and PPCs together. It just forces you to fire them half a second apart. Which significantly increases the chance of them hitting different locations against a moving/torso twisting mech.

Now all they have to do is unnerf the torso twisting of assault mechs.

Yep and im glad youre salty about it because salt is good on potatos.

Would it have been so hard to just quote it? I had to dig through the notes for 2 lines of text.

I don't knwo how the heat penalty is working for IS PPCs, but it looks like the IS will have significantly better ways of avoiding the penalty on PPFLD.

Nah, I'm not salty, I can always run dual Gauss + 4-6CERML and still make potato salad. Considering Laser vomit is better right now anyhow, it doesn't really matter

Serial Pinpoint Tandem Frontloaded Damage?

But yeah were definitely gonna need a new name for it

No. That nerf was part of the anti-fat ballerinas countermeasures, and it must remain until one of the following conditions are met:

1) Lights are buffed to be able to effectively fight and earn big scores alongside their larger brethren,
or,
2) The rewards system is changed to properly reward mechs for providing non-combat support, such as recon and capping.

It wont be. We can only hope that our cries are being ignored because there is a top secret effort to implement crit splitting and ammo changing in the future.
