I'm sure most of these have been suggested, I've even seen a couple suggested, but I'll reiterate those. There is one suggestion I have that I haven't seen. This suggestion is VERY IMPORTANT

First and probably easiest suggestion is that some different reticule options would be nice. Full cross hair, full X, triangle/chevron, circle dot, eotech circle dot, etc. Not an uncommon feature in other games

Add an "I'm Pushing" or "getting ready to push" option to the radial chat menu. That would help a lot with organization of the team. Maybe also other stuff like "going to flank" "i'm scouting" "I'm pulling back" "I'm badly damaged" "group up"-easy things that could help a lot if they were communicated. The different commands could be by sub-radials off the main radial, like weapons selection is done in some games. Also, something onscreen to denote a mech communicating like this would be nice, something like the mech marker and box that comes up when you hit "q" coming up and flashing orange for several seconds.

Add tanks to the game. I've seen this suggested fairly commonly, but I'm suggesting it for a more pragmatic reason-- some of the most popular games online are tank sims. MWO would be able to poach some players from those games b/c I'm pretty sure the idea of driving a sci fi tank fighting giant robots would appeal to a good portion of that crowd.

Something I've seen talked about I agree with is a need to be more accommodating to new players in teaching them how stuff works. Maybe make outfitting a mech part of the tutorial. Also, perhaps have some prebuilt "beginner mechs" with good builds they'd have the option to buy discounted with their cadet bonus. Going into the game using a stock build usually leads to frustration. And maybe give newbies a marker next to their name that only their team can see in the game waiting lobby during their first 30 games, so their team could help them out some. Maybe something that can seen during the match as well.

Since there really aren't that many maps, release tools for map building to the community. There are a lot of nerds that would get off making maps for mechwarrior. And I mean nerd in a good way, here.

Increase node cost after 51 to 1.5x current. Maybe increase node after 71 to 2x. After 91 add an option to get 5 to 10 bonus nodes that are very expensive--like 5k to 20k xp each. After you master a mech there is less reason to play it, so this will give an incentive to play it longer. The bonus from 5-10 bonus nodes wouldn't be huge, but it would be enough to motivate some (like me). Of course, the increased regular node cost might not be popular, but I think the bonus nodes would be generally liked. Alternately, some other way of increasing the value of playing a fully skilled mech would be fine.

Run the public test one week a month, or a few days a month, so people can go into it and test mechs and builds. Especially handy for new players

Give lights a score/xp/c bill multiplier, like 1.25x or 1.5x or so to incentive playing them.

Deathmatch game mode-- Teams are dropped as close as possible to each other, just out of weapons range, maybe an obstacle in the way depending on map. Example: HPG manifold, they'd be dropped on either side of center platform. Polar highland, just dropped out in the open. Fast brutal game that would be a lot of fun and would be a good change of pace.

And the most important suggestion: urbanmechs need capes. Think of the noble urban mech, striding majestically though the snow, cape flowing out behind, and you'll understand why this could change the game forever. Change. it. forever.

Add tanks to the game.

If tanks are ever added it would only be in an NPC capacity.

You will never see player driven tanks in MWO

So, you're saying the capes might happen?

I hadn't really thought past the urbanmechs, but now that you mention it, supernovas would look fetching in a corset.
