Didn't it say in the patch notes that they're stepping away from the BT lore timeline with the introduction of the Civil War patch?

My understanding we are not in the civil war time. We are right before it and they plan to do the civil war stuff when they get the event system working some day.

Basically it appears to have been a grandiose way of hyping the sale of Mad Cat MKIIs and some other Mechs.

The fact that the Mech Pack promotional blurbs talked about FedCom and 'choosing a side' makes it perilously close to bait-and-switch. If you believed the statements about 'major timeline advance' and that was part of the reason you bought in, then I think you'd have a strong case that you were misled about how little was actually changing in the game.

The fact they didn't even get all the weapons models done, didn't change the laser colors, simply tacked the new factions into existing ones etc just makes it all the more galling.

But of course we all bought our Mech Packs anyway, there was barely a complaint, and very few demanded refunds... so PGI probably feels fully empowered to make even less of an effort next time.

Wea culpa.

PGI basically has mess up the timeline. They promised things through promotions and advertisements on their main website which did not materialise. This is not helping them in the PR department.

Mad cat 2s were made by Clan Diamond Shark and even sold to the inner sphere. So IS has them too.

Tech and mechs before their time and without reason. If anyone is meeting PGI during their real life events please tell them their actions are not helping them.

In short, Russ and company lied, so we would buy mech packs. Same ******** as always from PGI
