I know that the Archer is not a very popular mech, but has anyone tried some new build with the new tech? How does it perform? Any good one to share?

How do you expect it to perform with hitboxes like that? It's basically an IS Mad Dog. Last year's rescale made it even worse.

I haven't yet reqequiped my 5W with LFE but I will. It's difficult to boat MRMs but maybe a mix of SRM and MRM could work well.

I am curious, how do we see or where do we go to see the hitboxes for the CT , ST etc...?

This information used to be in the game when I first started playing, you could select the component and it would highlight on the mech. I had no idea the archer had such huge side torso`s. This information would be critical to have.

I bought a tempest because it was on sale. I have no idea how to make it work.

But I am super committed to putting stealth armor on this thing and trying to make it work.

One ARC-5W I field has a mix of LRM-5s in torsos and MRM-10s in the arms. It has four of each plus Artemis for the LRMs. The other I have kept 'basic' with LRM-5s amd SRM-4s. Both have Beagle Active Probe and AMS. Chainfire the MRMs and it is almost a 'missile' machinegun.

ARC-5S has 5x MRM-10s (chainfired), 4x ERSLs, Beagle Active Probe, and AMS.

The 2R and Tempest I have not modified yet with new equipment/weapons. Though I am playing around with an idea for the Tempest.

*Somewhat related, I have swapped out some of my LRMs on Roughnecks for MRMs*

Picked up a Tempest because of the sale and stuffed some MRMs in there because regardless of effectiveness I love MRMs.

Honestly, I still think the 5W works excellent with 8xSRM4s. With LFE you can go quite speedily and carry a ton of ammo.

The small problem with stealth armour is that it takes up all the leg slots, so if you want to run missiles and stealth you have to put ammo in the torso or arms. While the stealth armour isn't blocking out the right slots on smurfy's, I crafted a Stealth Tempest in MWO that looked like this. 2 LPLs, 4 MLs, and a 340 LFE (you can also use a standard 310). In MWO there are no free slots in that build. You could also replace the MLs with ERMLs if you want to poke and hide, but with the MLs it runs hot so the ERMLs will only compound the problem.

Yes, the MRMs are really nice for the Archer. I just finished my first game in my Tempest (MRM50, 4 MLs) that went well. You can match them with ERMLs if you want to poke from the 300-400m range, or with MLs if you want some staying power in close.

Here's what I like. My favorite part is the ultra high mounting of the CT er medium lasers, it's super useful!

2 MRM20
4 MLAS
2 ERMLAS
