Base AMS does 3.5 dps at 30 shots a second so thats 3.5/30 = .116 damage per shot or 9 shots to destroy a missile
AMS overload increases the dps by 41% now so (3.5*1.41)/30 = .1645 damage per shot or 6-7 shots to destroy a missile depending if PGI rounded off or not
I was pretty sure that the base health was 10
with 3,5 damage per shot at 10 shots per second before the skill tree hit
and they changed the damage to just be 105/s pure at 1round each 0.1 intervall so 10.5 damage per round or 10 missiles per second firing. with current + 1.25 dps per node down to +0.75 dps per node next patch.
your version would make more sence, that would however mean that the mechlab is completely bugged for ams currently.
