Skill Tree Is Hilariously Imba

I completly ignored firepower in the night gyr double gauss/single ppc build and also in the shadowcat B 3 csrm 6 build.
Almost completly ignored it just a few points. 5 or 7 maybe.
And they dish out dmg like there is no tomorrow.
On the other hand mechs that I build as glass cannons, pumping every thing that even remotely looks like a skill point into firepower, cooldown and heat are massively underperforming.
Up to a point where it feels like the skill tree hasnt been tested enough at all.
Why can mechs/builds that completly ignore firepower be so much more effective than builds that focus exclusively on firepower and cooldown and heat???
No matter how I look at it, that just doesnt make any sense whatsoever.
Oh and btw...sniping is dead right now.
If sniping isnt a valid option again in 4 weeks im out of this game. Quite sad after so many years but brawling is too dull and boring for me.
And I dont wanne play gauss all the time. I love ppcs but ppcs are vastly underperforming right now.
1 months.
If ppcs arent effective again im out in exactly 1 months.
And yeah....ill give all my stuff away if thats even possible. Got 300 mil cbills right now and prolly another 100 mil in equipment. If its possible then Ill give it away. But I think u cant even transfer money. But ill just give the first person who says he/she wants it the password of my account.
Without sniping being a real and valid and effective strategy in this game, competitive to survival/brawling buiids then this game is no fun for me anymore.

Sniping from far and hill humping is by FAR the most effective way to play mwo.
Also OP is complaining sniping mechs that dont put anything in firepower are too stronk but then a few sentances complains sniping is dead in the same post LMFAO

Please give us details on why you feel sniping is no longer viable, and why you are not impressed with brawling.
Your post has a general feel of attempting to leave the playground and taking your football home with you because no one is passing it to you.

WAT? There's nothing but PPC sniping on maps like Polar, Frozen and Grim Plexus these days (and Alpine, of course, although it doesn't get chosen as often). Especially Grim - you would think it's a balanced map that fits most playstyles, but there are so many PPC snipers in each match that I'm often having trouble closing to laser vomit range, let alone brawling range. If anything, I'm getting a bit tired of all this sniper fest...

I care and I'm with the OP and so are at least another dozen of so players....... I'm not completely getting out but I can tell you I'll not spend another penny on PGI; will not play thousands of games anymore (I'm retired); and, I'm waiting a month or so to see what the NEFR's and "re-balancing" are really going to do to what I and my friends own.....
The cost is staggering when you consider what PGI has done since the Skill Tree.....
The Night Gyr series is DOA (the only series I purchased with real money). It's lost 40% of it's capabilities (if everything I've read about the CW patch is true.) PGI destroyed the functionality I purchased......trying to force me to buy something else....
What I've said a few times in forum articles before and many have written about, MWO becoming a 2D brawling game, may not be too very far from the truth..... If that's what you want, have at it Warriors!!!! Just remember, it's not everybody's cup of tea.
Please, don't go down the road and use the "don't let the door hit you" mantra because MWO doesn't have a lot of success bringing new players in and losing even a few dozen is making a play-style difference.... In Feb of this year, on the NA server, you rarely saw more than 2 non-NA players..... Now, twice that number and it's getting worse (I block the other two and only play NA).....
The door that slams on the OP is the same door that will hit you.... We are ALL customer's.....
We are waiting a few weeks and letting the dust settle to see what the actual costs and gameplay changes are BEFORE my friends and I decide what our level of committment will be........... If everything comes to pass and PGI is de-evolving MWO into a 2D gameplay model to support micro-sales of stuff to keep you relevant, well, I'm really going to be torn.....
Just my opinion.

Your skill tree sounds terribly built.

The more large energy weapons you have, the more useful those nodes are, particularly heat nodes. If you have only a few, or a lot of low heat weapons, heat management on operations is actually more beneficial. YMMV

I only owned NG's.... 5 to be precise. One set up for the missions my incoming team envisioned (they all left post skillt tree).... brawling, sniping, interdiction, combat support and a balanced flanking mech...
I was averagng 500 to a 1000 pre-skill tree. Now, 200 to 500. What you must consider isn't just the base mech. PGI de-evolved the entire gamplay platform........ The Gyr's lost their most valuable asset: mobility. Gyr's are fragile with the hit box they are and XL engine. Mobility kept the Gyr's fluid on the battlefield. I could find seams in the enemy's defense and exploit them. I was able to take on lights and turn well enough to defeat them..... It isn't about the weapons my friend, PGI took the "legs" out of the mech and rendered it into a "quasi assault." Agility is gone and nothing can be done in the new skill tree to replace that.....nothing. The entire gamplay platform changed because of the survival enhancement and the weapons NERF's....
The prey have over-come many of the predators to extend gamplay. It now takes several mechs to destroy Ravens, Urbans and Commando's now..... If you can't see that, you aren't seriously looking beyond the horizon. I am furious that PGI "took" what I payed for and gave me little of any recourse other than to "buy something else..."
Does this make sense to you? We all have different "values" about what is ehtical and just.......

Oh no, he could whine, just maybe not as much about PPC performance. I mean don't get me wrong there are lots of stuff to whine about. I just think stand alone PPC performance is not one of them (I'd consider whining about the extra .5 heat on the Clan ERPPC but...its just .5 so meh, just can't get worked up. Blinded by extra velocity all around).
