There are just too many combinations! I was tooling up the mk ii and then got side tracked by updating a whammer with an LFE and heavy ppcs, then before I could launch I got distracted by the YLW...
This is going to take some time to process! Makes you forget about the same game odds and maps we've played in and out for the last three years!
Where To Start?!

upgrade old mechs to ermeds and uac.
These will obviously still work.

I knew I would be overwhelmed, so I cleared my favourites list then just added my Cougars, Uziels and Mad Cat Mk IIs. Once they are done, I'll move on to IS Mediums. Baby steps!

I feel the same way.
2 new Mechs (MKII and Uziel) but feeling very unsure what to put on them ... let alone which of my existing 260 Mechs to dust off and revamp.
But it's a good 'problem' to have, for sure.

I wouldn't do that, you are going to make a mech that works to one that just runs super hot. (upgrading the uac maybe, but just strait out swapping to ERML's on everything won't. It certainly did not for me on test.)
That said, i am upgrading my Partisan to add 2 ERML's in the arm, to combine with a UAC10 in the other arm, and boost the engine to an LFE350.
Outside of that, i decided to just start working on upgrading every single C-bill booster mech. Make more money as i play with new toys!
I think i'll have to Load up my brawler Victor though, i know the skill tree really improved that mech, I can run the same build and add a bunch more speed, which will help it be a bit more mobile. I think i'll also pop in an LFE in my Atlas K too, just to see if the extra speed is worth the lost torso downside.. Perhaps it will be in pugs, that like to run all the time.

I'm glad they finally let me use the mech lab without worrying about having enough c-bills.

Maybe i just ran horribly cool builds but so far i dont feel difference extra 1 heat each of those ermeds does.
Even on hbk4p shoulder scattercannon got 6 ermeds.

IS: look into LFE, LFF, HMG, ERMED, UAC/LBX -- all others are for funsies at best.
Clan: look into HMG, HL and if you brawl, mPL. -- all others are for funsies at best.
Once you wrap your head around the "main" contributors (esp on IS side -- I honestly feel little to no real impact to clan side), you will find tinkering with builds with the lesser systems to be much easier imo.
