First MCII game.
Saw bows3r on the other side and thought I was focked. He had 4xATM-12 and 4x HML (IIRC)
Turned out quite well though.
One guy on our team was doing the typical sh|t talk as soon as we lost the first 2 guys.
At some point it was 2:6 for the enemy.
We still made it Posted Image

My first match made me realize something: Her legs aren't just goofy, they're incredibly weak. One of my first deaths to legging in a long time.

Yes the legs seem to be really big. But in this game I just lost one arm and all torsos were armor stripped.
But the arms are really shielding great so far from what I have seen.
Absorbed entire Alphas with them.
At least this was the experience I got when I did some lobby games with a friend.

I wanted to post "humblebrag", but there's actually no humbleness in the initial post.
So it's just bragging.
So eager to get acknowledgment? Sad Posted Image

I didn't see it that way. I felt he was just passing on for our information that the MKII seems a high-performance Mech, from his initial experience.

I would've never guessed that it would perform well! /s

Meanwhile I think ATM + this mech are making mixed builds great (again? cant say as so far they've never been great). If someone wants to play with missiles but doesnt want to boat them, double ATM12 and slap some ballistics, for I tried double uac10 and maybe lasers and you got a semi viable dps build.

Anything below a 12 launcher is not fun, and I dont think anything below the MKII tonnage (except Scorch) can run big launchers and still have some few fun weapons such as high cal ballistics. And LRM could not cut it as they were not any viable in close combat (or viable at all because of the sad damage).

All this results in a happy robot pilot ready to unzip his load on people. I'm a sucker for builds which utilize the trio of weapon types (lasers/ballistics/missiles).

For that intention, someone would share collected experience. Not just post a screenshot with personal uber-score without any useful information.
Some things are really too obvious for people to recognize.

Anyway, on the topic:

The MCII does nothing better that the WHK, HGN-IIC or MAD-IIC don't already do just as good or better.
No single lucky screenshot will change that.

It's also ugly AF and even lore-wise, it's an abomination.
Why is a Clan Mech called with a inner sphere code name?
Why is an enhanced Omnimech all of a sudden an older Battlemech? (hehe, in MWO terms, it would make sense, because here, Battlemechs pervertedly are better than Omnis are, but that is not true for lore).
It's like a canon-accepted non-canon thing.

It does bring double gauss with a respectable amount of lasers. Can also put jump jets. The engine size, coupled with very good high hardpoint placement does make it superior compared to HGN2C for sure.

I would not say it does anything worse than the ones mentioned, while still being more versatile than any of them (allows almost any build the former mechs can pull off with the exception of 9 energy hardpoints). Though lack of quirks does not make it a, for example, a better ppc platform when comparing to a Whawk.

I could be mistaken, but I could swirn I jad raed that it was initially added to a MW game and then later became canon.

They're very tall and easy to hit, and a lot of people like to check new mech owners for skimping too much leg armor on their shiny new toys

Arm hardpoint locations saying "hi". Also hitboxes. WTH are you talking about.

Oh, he went there.

It's called an IS name because it's literally an export model, made with the oldest of Clan tech for sale in the Inner Sphere by Clan Merchant Fish (I mean Diamond Shark). The name is literally so spheroid derps would get a chubby one at "new and improved Timber Wolf" while the merchant Clan used it to sell off all the old, cheap stuff in one giant assault Gundam.

So is this worth buying, despite the lame gait and the frail legs?

Going to be updating soon, and wondering if I should spend on it.

So the paywall Madcat mk2 is good and an elite player is good, is that the gist?

Just like the MAD-IIC, one doesnt need to be a soothsayer to know the MCII is gonna be a great mech.

Give us a few days and we'll be able to tell you. Personally, no matter how good a mech she is, if it wasn't for sentimental reasons, there's no way I'd pay for her with the current walking animation. It's really painful to look at. But, they said that they're going to try and fix it (with no ETA, so, I'm not holding my breath), and she, so far, has performed pretty well for me, despite the fact that I'm terrible in Assault mechs, and haven't skilled her at all...

You know they are fixing the walk animation right? Target goal is next patch but no promise.

It's my (proper) cynicism keeping me from saying that's fine, because I have a genuine fear that fixing her walk will be the new Inverse Kinematics. Aka "Soon. No ETA, but soon." And before this patch, if it was anything else, I wouldn't think that. But the amount of things that went wrong with this patch have got me a bit angry at PGI.
