I went out and bought a PHawk for some dual ERPPC action. With a base vel of 1900 combined with the 30% quirk and some skill tree nodes and a TC1 PPCs are hitting near instantly even at 1000m.

Build: Tacticons are stealth armor slots

I wanted the colors to be dark and hard to see, ended up with some Gundam tier ninja assassin bot.

So far I've done pretty well in it. First game was on bog, didn't get much damage, only a little over 200, but I killed a Warhammer and a Mauler and was last one alive. I had some people just unable to see me at some points when I was on the platforms and they'd just run away. The heat was getting to me, as this was before I refined the build with some extra cooling.

Next match I got frozen city, and did over 600 damage, easily farming people at a km out. Though I didn't use the stealth armor throughout the entire match, as my ECM handled it for me.

Stealth armor is pretty useless when there are lots of other bigger and scarier mechs infront of you who are on your side, as you take low priority, but it seems like it has a lot of potential on letting bigger mechs get some huge alpha strikes out before being focused. Only issue is that the IS doesn't have many good ECM mechs that work mid to long range in the heavy or assault classes.

I'd love to get a heavy mech with jump jets, ECM capability, and the ability to bring 2 HPPCs. Preferably one that I can make look like a bigger version of the mech above.

I was thinking that I could also opt for an RAC5 inplace of the ERPPCs. I could also throw in an LFE if it takes more damage than the ERPPC build. The idea is that with the RAC5 firing people would think they are under attack from a much larger mech such as a Mauler or Annihilator or something and try to shield, the smoke effects blinding the enemy from seeing who is really firing at them, especially with my mech being very hard to spot.

It could provide for some rather fun gameplay.

XL build: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...0bcd54165eb5d17

My favorite Ninja build. You can fire the gauss rifle all you want under stealth and you can pop the ppc 8 times before you hit 80% heat. You can then pop a coolshot. So basically you stay under stealth most of the whole game :)

Nice, I didn't think of using a no heat build with stealth armor.

IS could use a nice heavy mech with ECM and a ballistic in each side torso. Dual Gauss in stealth forever. Lots of shenanigans.

Ravens with 3xLPPCs are fun also.

This is what i've been trying recently on my Ghillie. LFE, 4 ERmediums, LBX5. While running under Stealth armor just firing the lbx will generate only 1 heat per shot(basically gauss). You can fire the ER mediums about 4times before heat becomes an issue.
Due to the lower weight you can slot a LFE 280 or if you want to go XL you can go reaaaally fast.

The 4 ER mediums on their own make for a solid vomit with decent range and once there is stuff open the lbx makes for good crits. Not to mention the LBX5 deals better dps than the Gauss, at the same range as the light gauss(almost). Spread is really night and its easy to hit CT with some splash to STs on mediums and larger from 700 meters.

Another plus over the gauss is the fact that you dont explode when it gets destroyed and if it does get destroyed you still have your vomit.

It would have been Nightstar 10-P if not for the hand actuators preventing you from equipping Gauss Rifles in the arms together with Stealth armor.

dark color doesn't helps to camo well on brighter maps.bets is some kind of a bit reflecting or shiny armor they often adopt the landscaes color better. but a blakc one is quite nicely visible on desert and the snow maps and even viridian..

Havent tried it on larger mechs yet, only found a use for it on lights so far, my first attempt was on the Pirates Bane, been partially useful on assault missions so far, just have to remember to turn off the stealth armor or you cant capture the base.

Also its been very handy for spotting the enemy while lurking in the water on river city, esp as the armor doesnt overheat you as long as you dont move, also IN water i didnt seem to generate any heat at all with the armor up which was very useful.

Oh well, I was looking for a heavy rather than an assault anyway.

Would be neat if we could have map specific camos, but we don't so I just pick darker colors because it feels right with the ninja aesthetic and because Grim Plexus, HPG, River City, and any map on night all work well with it. Even Tourmaline could work if I stick to the crystals.

Besides that, I notice that people tend to shoot the brightest colored mech first more oven than the darker looking ones and its worked out for me on bog and frozen city already.

With one more tonne you have a erppc and a light ppc for 15 dmg, but with 10dmg with no min range and 1900m/s speed.

The only trouble I've had with LBX and ECM is that people can still see where you are firing from, whereas with gauss they have no clue at all

For serious stealth I'd definitely rate the gauss far above any other weapon

So many people are using stealth armor to play a ranged sniper, not realizing you get pretty much the same result with using only ECM

The real strength of stealth armor is waltzing right in the middle of the enemy, dropping a UAV, going back to hiding and cooling off a bit, then going back in and just eating their rear armor/legs and watch them spin around in confusion. Works well with machine guns or SRM

I've had tons of fun with the couple of matches I've played with this so far, and I think it might just be one of my new favorite things to play with, even if it's fragile as hell.

I've been experimenting with my CTF-0XP, with mixed results.
Heat build up is rough, so I have to be very careful on hotter maps. Usually I will keep stealth enabled, position myself for an alpha and take the shot, then turn off stealth and reposition. Enable it again once heat dissipates. Cooler maps I can get off two alphas before reposition.
I like the ENF-GH build with zero heat build up. I think I will try something similar.
Here are the builds I have been playing with my Cataphract:
Brawler: Two alphas at most before heat becomes a big problem, but I have been able to get close. If in a city area, it works great because you can dip back between buildings.
Ranged: Hot! True poke and repo build.
Low Heat: Haven't tried this one yet, in theory I would be able to stay hidden quite a while and poke

I have been trying to use as much new tech as possible on these builds to test that out as well. Not sure about the weapons or the light engines yet either, but I am enjoying the extra variety so far.

Stealth armor without ECM... that shouldn't work, right?

A) Need to have ECM for stealth armor to work
B ) Stealth armor does NOTHING when you are further away from your enemy than 270m(if you have the ECM skills), other than impeding your ability to dissipate heat. Only a close range build would ever even marginally gain something from SA.

Doesn't do much for your stalker, since you are trying to engage the enemy at ranges further than 270. If you get into a brawl, turning off your heat dissipation is not really worth it. Seeing as people can counter your SA with PPCs, Narc, TAG AND BAP

SA is and will always be a niche upgrade for fast moving scouts that find themselves running a bit too close to the enemy. IE on close quarter maps. During a fight a light running in amongst the enemy with stealth armor is something that easily gets overlooked due to lack of doritos.

Very hard to find a use other than that, especially on a slow mover, with the SA being so easily countered by PPCs, BAPs, tags and narcs.
