Nah,you run 2 at a time,run 2 till jam,then swap to other 2. THat's how I've been seeing people do it right now on the ANH and MCMk2

clan have no racs... so idk what madcat youve seen.

and this is the same old song... OMG clans are OP so PGI nerfs the clan equipment and mechs while buffing the Innersphere mechs to the point that community warfare (Faction Warfare) is a joke... with the IS Facerolling the clans at every turn... lets not even get started on the dropdeck imbalance... 240tons for a clan dropdeck vs the 265tons of the Innersphere I have been hearing this song since wave 1 with the IS players complaining that the Clans are OP...

is there a bias toward Innersphere mechs and equipment... you bet your sweet @$$ its been that way since just after Clan Wave 1 and the constant attempts at balance to the point that it is rare to see a clan unit at all in Community/Faction warfare..

its the same old song... and UNTIL PGI gets it right so that both sides are treated equally this will CONTINUE to be the same old song

Oh, is this why all the best units are Clan and not Innersphere then, because the equipment and weapons are inferior?

The best units seem to swap back and forth..or at least they did ages ago when Clan warfare was alive lol.

Clans were always superior to the IS,thats why the IS had to play catchup so hard.

That being said the heavy does seem a little too strong with current stats.

Which if you look at the maths and compare it to the competing loadouts of either 6xAC5 or 5xUAC5, that is a totally and completely junk terribad build.

2xRAC5 does ~85 damage over 4 seconds, after a 1 second spin up. Chain the 2nd pair on there perfectly so a total of 9 seconds gets you ~170dmg

UAC5 with cooldown nodes (which do not affect the RAC) gets to ~1.5s CD... so 5xUAC5 build does:

0s 25 dmg
1.5s 50 dmg
3.0s 75 dmg
4.5s 100 dmg
6s 125 dmg
7.5s 150 dmg
9s 175 dmg

And thats without ever double tapping

6xAC5 is 210 dmg in 9 seconds

The RACs require constant staring, have a spin up time, spread damage, are hotter and have shorter range.. for that list of disadvantages they should be doing massively more DPS. not LESS.

Also, by the way, MCMKIIs dont have the option to run RACs.. they are IS only.

The Heavy PPC is so different to the Clan ER PPC it makes for a poor comparison. The IS ER PPC is much more similar, so is a better comparison.

And no, the Heavy PPC is not 'too strong'. It is honestly barely average.

Ahh ok,I thought they had a ballistics boat option? I haven't seen one yet.

But yeah,RACs,aren't very good. They don't have much that offers them anything useful,slow shell velocities,long face time,and long unjamming.

the MCII does have a ballistic boat, yeah (the MCII-B.) It cant run RACs though, because RACs are IS only. Likely you saw it with 4xUAC5 or 2 5s and 2 10s.

lol I too was having fun with the new IS tech.

Then I found 4 x ER Mediums and 2 x Heavy Large on a hunchback IIC. Man that thing if ******* leathal. Absolutely lethal. Easy mode laser beams, pin point, wait for heat to go down bop and done.

Why the flying **** do I bother aiming and leading targets with dakka, exposing for full face time when you can have clan lazorrrs that ****!

Sure the IS ER PPC will be more accurate at long range, but the Clan ER PPC will be able to make up for that with volume of fire.

No, it's not 'damn near useless'. The damage it causes adds up, and I've blown the ST of mechs with hits to their arms or legs, along with coring out mechs that were shielding their CT by hitting their ST.



This is the superficial argument, the "I had this time I killed a mech with the splash damage" yeah it happens.. once in a blue moon, for every instance you can find of the splash damage doing something meaningful I guarantee I can find easily 100+ times it didn't do anything but pad numbers

Sustained DPS? How do you figure champ? ooh again because the splash damage pads your numbers = more epeen.

I'd gladly drop the splash from the cerppc and have it go to 11-12 heat. Hell that's a straight nerf coming from you 'No really splash damage is good!" people
