Battlemaster 1G. Put 2 ER meds in the torsos first, so they end up in the highest mounts. LFE350 and LFF plus all the heatsinks.

I tried twin HPPC on a Cataphract, their probably awesome but my run of luck with them atm is terrible, better to blame the pilot than the gear if others are getting good results when im getting nothing out of the ordinary compared to regular ppc.

Single HPPC on my BJ-3 paired with a single SNPPC. Way more heat-efficient than dual ERPPC or ERPPC+PPC, can expose only the tiny arm ear to get the full long-range poke off. The only downside is the lost velocity and extended range, but 1km poking has never been particularly efficient to begin with.

I get best results with HPPC paired with gauss or dual AC5s.

I also put together a marauder with 2 heavy PPCs and 3 light PPCs, for shits and giggles. It's terrible. But at least it's the fun kind of terrible

Why not just 2 HPPC? Just curious.

Seems cool running enough.

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...4842e1199be4d98

Running XL since poptarting build with all weapons in one side and I'd rather have extra damage or cooling throughout my life than having a chance that I end up alive with my gun side gone.

A couple reasons. First, because jump jets kill your dissipation, so it's not as cool as Smurfy lets on. Second, because my experience with it using the existing weapons showed me that I can get much better damage output running 1x ERPPC and 1x PPC; this is the same thing, trading range for damage.

Typically, for PPC-focused 'Mechs like the BJ-3 and SHD-2K, I dump a lot of skill points into the weapon tree so I can fire as fast as possible, as cold as possible, and as accurately as possible. All so I can push aggressively. So, to me, the extra heat efficiency is worth more than the extra 5 damage. It's just my philosophy, I think you can go either way, but I prefer better follow-through to a better initial action.

This is the build I had in mind. It might even be worthwhile to swap a single heat-sink for a TC1.

Its a nice option on my Marauder 5D with the single high energy mount and 2MRM10s, 300LFE, & 2SNUBPPCs, & 2ERMLs

The high mount makes a difference and only shooting one keeps you from overheating. I'm not sayings a wrecking machine but it preforms admirably and can attack at different ranges.

I run a pair on my misery with an ac20 and a light 300, runs just like the OG one but with a lot more kick.

Pretty similar to what I got, but I prefer higher damage per shot so I don't have to put in extra shots for the most part. I do lose a few heatsinks compared to your build though. Either way I guess both of us are effective enough, I've just been wanting 30 PPFLD from PPCs for awhile, the Clans just haven't been giving me enough.

Yeah, right now the only Clan PPFLD options are Gauss and ER PPCs. While you can still do 30 damage from twin Gauss, there aren't a whole lot of 'Mechs that can mount it, especially with jump jets. You've got the HBK-IIC, the NTG, the MAD-IIC, and the MC II. Otherwise, you have to stick to just two cERPPC.

If they had set the GH limit to 3 instead of 2, this wouldn't be a problem. But since it's 2, I think we can now entertain the concept of single-shot cACs. Either that, or boost all PPC GH to 3 (except perhaps the HPPC), which is something that has been suggested many times over the last couple of years.

I find the HPPC paired with a LPPC to be a good swap for builds with two standard PPC in the same torso/arm. Same slot usage, but weighs 1 ton less than two standard PCC. It does however have an extra half point of heat and the HPPC doesn't sync with the cooldown of the LPPC. Both minor in my book.

I'm running WHM-6R with 2x HPPC and 1x UAC/5 (XL300, 16 DHS) and I enjoy it so far. Tried it also with AC10 and 14DHS but it was too hot and the AC10 wasn't very good at killing light mechs that got inside the 90m zone. I'm thinking about trying out also UAC10, but it would be probably too hot again.

UAC/10 are way too hot. IIRC, on PTS they tried 4 heat and then reduced it to 3. Now it's back to 4 and it's ridiculous. They don't pair well with much of anything because they are so hot. So, while they are independently competent weapons, the combos are weaker than they should be and it's combos that rule the game.

Note, that isn't to say you can't do well with isUAC/10, just that they don't quite live up to the hype, IMHO.

I'm doing pretty well with a 2xHPPC 2xLB5X warhammer 6R. Really like that combo. Good convergence. I use group1 for left PPC, group 2 for right, and group 3 for ACs. It helps keep the heat down.

Also doing OK with an HPPC 4xMPL marauder 5D. It's pretty satisfying to finally have a hell of an energy gun in that spinal mount.

Only ran it a couple times, but seems to be ok.

Well, ok but a little on the warm side but I seem to have found a use for an Atlas-K :)

PHX-1B, 1xHPPC + 3xMLAS, 3 jump jets and stealth armor. Fun times jump sniping and blowing up back armor.

Hppc is strictly a better ppc. No more, no less. It does the same thing as a ppc just with more damage and more heat at pretty much the same ratio. You put it on any mech that performs with ppc and can afford the extra weight Hppc requires and it will perform. Note that your mech will run hotter but that means you dished out the same amount of damage in a shorter period of time and with less exposures. The being said, lppc is strictly a bad ppc since it does the exact opposite of a hppc.

Yeah this is has been my experience as well. If I bring two of them I'm so heat capped there is no point to having other weapons. Its like their only role is on a Bushwacker with 2 of them.

They do okay in a pair with a pair of LPPC or quartet of standard MedLas, but with a quartet or more of ERML or a pair of full PPCs on anything they are silly hot. And it's not like you can just add DHS to cool them, because your slots are consumed to such an extent that you can only reasonably stretch to 16...which doesn't adequately cool the combo with ERML.
