Yesterday I tried to work a bit with the heavy gauss and while I find it difficult to get it into a brawler setup, it still seems to be a nicccce addition. So how about dual HG?

I don't have any Annihilators, so this is pure theory but I'd like to know if anyone tried something like this:
ANH-1X Fafnir

I know it is not an exact copy but what do you want with a single MPL and 2 ERML. Ammo is limited and the ammo skills would be needed. Could this work?

In the spirit of the Fafnir, i like it but... she runs quite hot with those er/standard med lasers if she were to fire all at once. With only 2 extra DHS, youre gonna find yourself sweating when youre face to face slugging it out. Might have some success chain firing.

As a side note:

In the TT world it looks but the combo of ER and standard med lasers just seems out of place.

In the MWO world it seems sound. ER for that extra reach and standard when in range. So i could see the alternating of those weapons.

Bare in mind, even with the 300 rated engine, youre still slow and subjected to be targeted by faster lights. you'll prolly use those lasers more than you would with the HGRs. Sniper mode i suppose and the laser to deter unwanted guest. But before i forget, them HGRs do massive damage up close. Big surprise to anyone who dont notice.

HG isnt even for sniping, its for brawling. No sense in using ER lasers. it only does good dmg at like 400 meters.


We got brawl ppcs and brawl gauss with this patch. Doesnt work the same as normal gauss same with snub nose PPC, you dont want to shoot them at ranges over 375 with them things.

Ah true, somehow i missed the brawling part. If that is the case, i would drop the ER and replace them with standard. Could easily chain fire or group fire them lasers.

Plus he does not have enough tonnage for dual HGR and HPPC, even if he went for Snubbies. He would have to sacrifice armor or reduce engine back to a 200 rated or do both. And i think he wants to keep the Fafnir feel as well.

Well you can't get ECM like the Fapnir but I'd go dual gauss, dual Hppc. Just stagger them to avoid GH.

But its freaking mean mate! I have been running from them and the quad AC/10 ones because they freaking hurt.

Hgauss worked in tt as it still had double the range of medium laser, in mwo it wont work cause its hampered by using short range as optimal instead of long like every other weapon.

fafnir is just giant jihad style suicide bomber.

I run the quad cannons myself and doing a bit better than any other mechs ive piloted. IMO, the Anni is one of the best purchases i ever made.

Only the MAD IIc, but i should state that out of the IS mechs, the Anni topped it off.
