Did anybody notice if the premium time included in the purchase of the Civil War mech packs was automatically activated?

I suddenly have 78 days of active premium time when it should only be 18 days.

Was this activated without my input when it should have gone to banked time like every other mech pack I've purchased?

Premium time in mech packs is now activated upon injection of said pack into your account and not banked. It looks to have started with the first Civil War packs (after going through the preorders list in my profile). It says right in the packs that the premium time is activated and not banked.

Premium time was available as Banked premium included into packages up to the javelin
after that its been sold as premium time, which is directly activated upon injection of the mechpack

Premium time was removed from the Standard packs originally, and the Collector's provided 30 days of active time.

After much moaning and/or poor sales numbers, PGI put 30 days active time in the Standard and increased the Collector's to 60 days active.

Here's the announcement about the change

Ah, I completely missed that part. Thanks for the clarification.

This showed what we can collectively achieve if we close our wallets and say 'no' to being gouged.

PGI has been lowering rewards and CBill earnings for years... Rewards 2.0, no special variants in packs of 3, requiring CBills to level Mechs, etc. They think they can give us less and less value for the same continued money.

You have to stand up to that kind of monopoly gouging.

I Tweeted Russ when they removed PT from packs, politely letting him know each time why I wasn't going to buy whatever pack they'd announced without it. And when they re-introduced PT in packs, I immediately Tweeted him to say 'thank you and well done' and bought a Mech Pack on the spot.

I know many others did the same.

PGI behaves like a child - they only learn acceptable behavior through reward and punishment. And the only reward or punishment they care about is their revenue. Arguing with them logically, trying to damage their or the game's reputation, just bounces off them.

Only when you deny them revenue - especially, cancelling Mech Pack orders - do they take your concern seriously.

It's lame really.

They just want/need people to game hard during the summer instead of Socialising. Most of mine on a 24 hour basis will be wasted. It should at least start the count while in game.

I'd be fine if they charged double, but it was only used when you play.

Of course they will never change it now. They are millions of banked hours still out there. That's why they only provide it as activated now.

I'd actually settle for them to take an average of all gamers who use PT each day and convert banked time into used time only. I just hate the thought of my PT running on some days I don't even get a chance to play. What a waste... (for people like me).

If they were to swap Premium Time into a version that only depletes when in game, it would 100% be sold in hours. Then all that time you spend in the Mechlab, or the Skill Tree or waiting for a match or in a loading screen *really is* wasted time.

So while I agree the current situation isn't perfect, at least we have the option for stupid-long play sessions.

I don't know about that. I came back after leaving the first week after closed beta and never having activated my month and my time was wiped.

There are Founders who say they never activated their banked Premium Time, as they waited in vain for the game they thought they bought to materialise.

I still have 1,320 hours banked. I've been activating 30 days at a time for about 2 years.

I'll definitely be thinking really hard before buying any more mech packs if this continues.

The problem was the banked premium time. I know I was generally buying mech packs faster than I could consume my premium time and there was a few months were I wasn't running premium time. That being said, I still have 4416 hours of banked premium time or just over 6 months worth. Now add to it the active premium time I got form pre-ordering 3 packs plus what I already had running and I have another 100 days active on my account right now. I also got another 90 days worth coming in October when Escalation Wave 2 comes out so I won't need to purchase premium time until July 2018 if there aren't any new mech packs I want to buy that includes premium time that is.

If my banked premium time had been counting down, I would have been out a long time again and ponying up my 2500 MC on a monthly basis.

Yes, clearly it wasn't enough that activated "premium" time is used 24/7. No it's just not worth it.
