Only time my PC ever disconnects are on these stupid drop-ship animations. Can we get rid of them please? My old PC was the same - only DC'd on the maps where the drop ship cartoon was playing. I never, ever DC anywhere else.
Besides, all these little movies do it show us how our mechs can drop 50m from a dropship and not get damaged, yet we step over a pebble and we take leg damage. :-P
thanks.

OP is either a very old man who can be bothered to learn the whatsits of us young whipper snappers
Or a very young man who has never had to use proper terminology before and thus never bothered to learn.
To be actually on topic, if your problem is the dropships themselves, I find that dubious. More likely one of your texture .pak files is screwed up, and you need to repair something.

I have the same issue. Whenever I am tabbed out of MWO while waiting for the match to start, as long as the map starts with dropship, the whole screen flickers rapidly then the game crashes. Non-dropship map such as Canyon has no such issue.
*edit* Repair tool gave my game clean bill of health.

Yeah, I played the paper-n-pen game before half the MWO community was born. I am old. Got me. And I have a habit of using borderline-derogatory terms to describe things that bug me, hence "cartoon".
I ran the repair, and no file issues reported at all. And this was a recent new install on a nice new desktop. Did the same on last PC too. Just lucky I get the DC's I guess.
(I still think the 'cartoons' are pointless, but I am ok with being over-rulled if it makes some feel like they are in a real mech battle. And the dropping out of the sky without damage works for ya. Meh.)
thanks.

And there goes my hope of hidden prematch cinematics I just never found and/or disabled by error. A MechWarrior can still dream.

My game crashes at drop-ship also. That's four times a match in Faction play. You people should stop telling people to use the repair tool. We all know that the repair tool is a placebo and doesn't actually do anything but corrupt more files. Why you may ask? Because PGI hasn't been able to fix this issue since the first day this game came out.

I disconnect whenever I try to enable the new auto-aim function using alt-F4. Someone mentioned it in a match, and I'd love to use it but I disco every time. Maybe you should try not using that.
I hope this helps.
Sincerely,
A clueless n00b.

I don't get crashes upon dropping but I definitely see graphical artifacts, stuttering, and object pop-in when the drop occurs. Perhaps the level is dynamically loading while the drop occurs, but in a non-performant way that causes a crash for some players.
