It weighs almost 20 tons
It can only be loaded in a shoulder with a STD engine because its 11 slots
It explodes
Has a charge up and 5 second cool down
Yes it does 10 more damage than a regular Gauss
Does it really need to be 5 ammo per ton? Making a comfortable amount of ammo 4 or 5 tons is a lot tonnage to devote to getting the most out of a plenty powerful weapon.

I suggest 7 like the AC20, which is pin point 20 damage, so only 5 less damage with no charge up.

Lower the velocity or max range to justify it but add a little more ammo to the ton.

HGauss needs a lot more love than just more ammo to make it viable. Lower it's slots to 10. Same with LBX-20.

its in line with other gauss ammo 1.2times their tt values.

lgauss 16 to 20
gauss 8 to 10
hgauss 4 to 5

ammo values however all over the place
ac10 got 2 times its tt value
ac20 got 1.5times rounded down
ac2 got 1.66 times
ac5 got 1.5times
srm got tt values
lrm got 1.5times
atm got 1.5times
mrms got 1.2times
mgs got 5 times

TT rule is more of a suggestion, for this game. For the sake of balance ammo can be easily tweaked, such as in the case of AC10s.

Yeah, I was already considering the ammo quirks, but I still take those quirks on my 2 LBX20 MCII 2 and it is helpful but only to replace maybe 1 ton so 6 instead of 7, still need 6 tons devoted to ammo for super heavy weapons to really have high damage potential.

Imo no it should stay at 11 but instead it should get higher range.
You can reduce crits to 10 and it still wont be a good weapon at 180m...

You can increase the range to 810m with 25 damage and it would still be a bad weapon with 11 crits. You would also need to increase it's damage and then we are nearing one-shot territory and then we have other problems.

So I would rather go the route of lowering crits and make it viable from there.
