Well, running a heavy or assault you do not need to worry about any leg damage. Still have a bad feeling for one TK made on purpose on an atlas running into me three times in the same game. And that was in a time I actually was still in a shape to run a light with a decent performance.

i cant stand people that dont read the post and then make comments after it that have nothing to do with what the person was talking about,,, look up,, theres a couple,,,

i have to agree,, some people cannot drive a mech even when sober, doesnt matter if you are in a light or an assault it seems some have figured out how to run into you. and yes thats with giving them 6 miles of room, they still manage it,,

So you are saying that when on Polar When I am standing still and has done so for 6 seconds the assault coming up behind me and has still 200 m to go does not have to show any consideration? That is BS. The fight has not even started. I play all weight classes and when in a heavy or assault I do not run over my teammates if I can avoid it by tapping A or D to pass 20 m on either side. 15 extra s to avoid a mech. BS it does not cost that kind of time.

If you're right beside the Assaults as a Light on Polar Highland you're doing it wrong anyways. You should be spreading out and scouting or harassing from other angles.

I'm not going to try to try and explain the actions of some hypothetical player to you, I'm just pointing out the logical fact that as the smaller, faster mech, it's much easier for you to just stay out of the way than it is for them to have to navigate an obstacle course of light mechs.

And yes, a Light mech that parks in the middle of a road on River City or Crimson Straight can cause a huge traffic jam. Poking from the front of the team on a corner slows everyone down immensely.

not once has he said or implied he is "Near" assaults or anything, he said hes WAY WAY off ahead, stops, gets into position, maybe does some spotting/peekabo, only to have some phat assault mech smack into him when hes clearly made his bed way ahead of the other mech(s).

Also not all lights can just go off scouting as they please (my preference is a purifier and currently a slow ppc firestarter/ember, both highly unsuitable scouts), apart from some lucky Cheetah/Banes knocking around most scouts i see atm in QP at least just get spotted themselves and prawned or at least made aware of and arent of much use till midway into the match when ppl scatter all over the place.

Lights can do more than just run around like headless chickens pressing R, since this last patch at least ive not even been able to make use of good positioning or TAG's to spot etc, i just get found out too quick and shot to hell so i dont even bother atm, currently everyone seems to be on the ball even if ive been careful with stealth armor.

6s off is not WAY WAY off ahead.

Some lights work more like support mechs- Panther, Cougar, Puma etc., but it remains that making yourself an obstacle for your team is bad play.

im aware of that i mostly rock a purifier and stick close to bigger mechs, large mechs arent like super oil tankers, they dont take hours to turn around and avoid stuff, they may be slow but only an arrogant nutsack or a person using 100% throttle while semi afk would be dense enough to walk in a straight line into a mech thats parked up way ahead and is shooting/spotting/standing in cover.

I feel my old sig from the closed beta collision days sums this up adequately:

ROFL....I actually don't see anything what is under my WHM's cockpit cause I'm "stearing" on or for the enemies. And I don't care is there an terrain or other obsticle especially when I having "contact" with enemy. Sorry if I bumped some one or stomped on their tiny leg. Just don't walk into my fire exchange. Please, cause I have tunnel vision in that case, and if suddenly you got cored from the back steping into rain of damage... it's your own fault.

Sincirely yours... Cancer.

Sometimes little mechs with short range weapons like to stand in a prime firing spot or travel lane and watch. Awareness of your surroundings works both ways. That bump at the beginning shouldnt damage you though. we should have like 5 seconds of invulnerability at drop. Especially since the fun that can be had getting leg damage while out in limbo at the start of FW matches.

I would change letter "L" for letter "T".

yes ive noticed that in an Ani you wont see certain lights at all if they are in front of you.

also would all the idiots who keep poking out in front of my Ani just not, ive had several games where im positioned well to use my 4 AC10s and had some ******* in a thunderbolt repeatedly poke out in front of me i was really tempted to just keep firing and blow him out of my way, it happens a lot i cant reposition easily if at all in one of those, had another game recently where i couldnt fire for over a minute because everyone kept running in front of me. your Enforcer's firepower is pathetic compared to my Ani, stop denying my firing its just a wasted 100 tons otherwise.

Hi, I'm probably that guy that runs into you. I'm in a light mech as well, and I need all the leg armour I can get. But I also understand that collisions deal inconsequential amounts of damage. 0.49 to 0.63 damage per ram, according to my experiments. I did the math here last time somebody made a big deal about it. It's not a big deal.

Thanks OP for inspiring the new improved "Think" sig Posted Image - now with properly cut commando, actual font and less "First time PS user" look!
