Anyone found anything interesting for the venerable Protector?

I just bought one as I have a buddy who loves his and the orion is pretty decent with its current armor quirks.

300LFE
ES+LFF
+2DHS in engine
2ERMLs
AC20(3tons)
LRM15(2tons(
HPPC
Zero Slots Remaining

The LRM15 helps thin the armor before the fight (and while they are retreating back into cover)
The ERMLs let you shoot down UAVs and add a little damage to nearly anything you can see (on most maps)
but the kicker is the HPPC and AC20. At range the HPPC hurts and nothing dares close on the combo.

Also if you loose the right or left half you still have a hard hitting weapon so you aren't completely out of the fight.

I think this qualifies as interesting. But I am still playing with possible loadouts.

A proper protector build.

Stop putting horrible extremely hot ammo deficient bracket builds on the orion. If you play to its strengths, its a formidable 75 tonner, but if you put a heavy ppc, lasers, ac20, and lrms on one, it becomes the biggest brick in the game.

What separates the Protector from the other Onions is the -20% cooldown on Gauss and the left ST energy point (-10% cooldown-10%heat like all orions). My favorite build makes the most of both:
HGR
HPPC
2ML
STD300

HGR and HPPC sync perfectly in time. You need to practice the art of charging up the HGR (RMB), then tapping the HPPC (LMB) and releasing the RMB so they practically fire together, but the HPPC discharges a millisecond before the HGR shakes your reticule.
40 PPFLD and cooldown quirks kick ***.
Allows you twist immediately and spend the cooldown period shielding with your left arm/side.
Lasers are extra damage when you are not getting fired back at and against lights/UAV.

More shooty shooty than the HGR build above, but lacks the oomph. Completely destroys any opened components.

You know I haven't even looked at quirks on this thing since I quit almost four years ago.
Picked back up, built a Protector with 2xLBX10s and 3mpulse... wasn't tracking the Gauss quirk at all.. those armor quirks though, leading a push in this thing is much fun...

Running 3x LBX in mah Ilya though... Guess I'll have to rebuild the Pro with a HGauss.
