I am trying to decide on either another heavy or assault hero while the sale is still going on and would like input on the Warrant. Atm I am considering the either the Warrant or possibly the Marauder IIC (yes I know, one is heavy and the other is assault).

Currently my only two clan mechs are the freebie Linebacker and a Summoner I got from a supply box so I don't really have experience with them.

Would also take input if there is a different clan heavy or any assault (heroes only please) that could be fun. An "all-arounder" would be the best option as I hang in the tier5/4 area and would gladly buy a Potato decal if they sold them...

Honestly the warrant isnt worth getting since you can literally run 90% of everything you could with the warrant on the regular timby (and you get CT hardpoint options which the warrant lacks). Its not a terrible mech by any means (and it lets you do stuff like dual LBX20), but the timber has fallen off its throne since its gotten its agility nerfed to the point you will have difficulty keeping up with teh whole poke fest meta game everyones playing.

If you are looking for heros, the scorch is a very good choice, albeit the MCII-2 is close enough to the scorch that a CB option does exist. If you enjoy brawling, the scorch comes with 4 SRM hardpoints, 2 gauss hardpoints, and 2 laser hardpoints, so you can have a good hybrid brawler build with 2 GR and 4 SRM6 or SRM6A depending on whether you want backup lasers or not. If you actually like the thing, the LBX20 is also an option, i just cant justify the loss of PPFLD and ability to shoot at 1km for 10 more alfa strike and a teeny bit more DPS.

Another option is the purifier, and as much as i hate it, it is the ONLY viable choice for the cutefox since it comes with 2 dual energy STs, allowing the thing to boat enough energy weapons to have both good alfa strike and some DPS behind it. Its not a mech for everyone (and its not exactly meta or anything), but if you like teh cutefox at all, then get the purifier since its 100% superior to the free models.

The vast majority of other clan hero builds can be dont with regular variants (since you get to use omnipods and most heroes are not designed to be P2W).
