Since the last patch, LRM's gained an increased velocity of 300 meters. I can nail someone now with LRM's in a couple of seconds with no chance of them getting out of my line of fire. I use LRM's upon a regular basis as part of my arsenal, however with this last patch if someone wants to say LRM's are over powered, I'm going to have to agree with them.

Suggested means of dealing with the upgraded LRM's.

Reduce velocity by 150 meters. Still effective, just not crazy as they are now.
Improve the protection gained by equipped AMS.
Reduce LRM 15 and LRM 20 firing rate by a quarter of a second.

As much as I enjoy pounding you guys with LRM's, it's no longer fun, it's a slaughter.

  • LocationI'm still pissed about ATMs having a minimum range.

Where did you get this "300" speed from? They were buffed from 180m/s to 190m/s, and are still one of the least overall effective weapons in the game.

Something to note:
LRMs didn't get that much of a velocity buff.
I've been doing that for a while, the buff only lets it happen at a bit farther range now.
I don't feel they are overpower... at least not at the tier of play I am at. T5, might be a different story...
150 would be basically almost back to pre-buff stage from several years ago...
AMS got an improvement last time LRMs got a velocity buff. However, the LRMs lost much of their velocity buff, but their counterpoint AMS buffs were not removed... You've actually been playing with over buffed AMS in relation to LRMs from years ago...
Most people don't even use LRM15 and 20, in favor of "tighter spread" 10s and 5 (which also have shorter cooldowns). If you lengthened the 15s and 20s cooldowns... you'd bring them out of disparity even more with their lighter cousins.

I'm halfway tempted to ask you what tier level of play you are dropping in, and if it's mostly solo or group play. I'm in T1, and though I enjoy LRMs and using them, it's not exactly "a walk in the park" at that level of play. I can leverage reasonable results from them, but it takes work and typically a level of sneakiness. (Though, I admit, I don't use them as most typical users do, and I'm very much on the front lines the whole time I play.)
