Unless you pull off some houdini style magic on netcode and fix the internet as whole, the difference between having 30ms and 200ms vastly outweighs any of the recent weapon imbalances.

a 30ms player with laser/ballistics will actually make ssrm boats look weak by comparision right now, which is saying a lot.

This issue is greatly about regional servers, as the single biggest differential in Ping times is geography.

For example, European players will usually have pings in the 120-200 range.

West Pacific players will usually have pings in the 250-300 range.

Without the external ervers, this would take internal segregation within PGI's servers by IP address.
