Decided to check the game after like a year long pause.

Run into a problem that seems to be some sort of unending download process. Here were my actions:

1. Downloaded and instaledl some sort of client called MWO Portal
2. Using said client i set temporary directory in its options (I did this because you actually need more than 45GB free space for game to install -> learned this hardway)
3. Set install directory and the patching started
4. The problem: currently the download process is at ~26 000 MB / 17202,58 and ETA went into negatives.

Question how do I download and install the game? Really any help is appreciated, hope i will manage it the third time.

Edit.

First attempy at installing failed due to insufficient disk space (even though free space on partition i tried to install was 48GB), and thats why used the option for temp directory.

If you run into problems with portal you can use the Client version that´s available in steam.
outside of that you can always contact support (technical@mwomercs.com)

Yeah, try using steam. It installs way smoother. And if you don't like having steam running. You can boot the client from the folder, just put a shortcut on your desktop.

So second try ended ended in failure:
After reaching like 31 GB download size and about -1hour ETA (yes negative time) game started to install. Installation went on for almost 2 hours and then system crashed with bluscreen error (kernell error something, something, system will shut down to avoid damage)

Aftermatch:
Game does not seem to be installed properly, but there is about 16,4GB worth of files in install directory (did not spot any .exe file though)
Temporary folder has 16,7GB file called: FrontendPatch_ZTN, its archived file (or packed as some like to say)
Hitting patch button on MWO portal does nothing (it says downloading , but after waiting about 30 minutes nothing happens)

I will try fresh download and installation once more by MWOP.

Can i ask how to get files for that so called steam version? I will try this as my fourth try (if third one is going to fail as well)
