Yes it work on both AMA and LAMS... but untill you got targeted by some 40+LRM boat. Than if you use LAMS you'll got overheated and rekt by lurms Posted Image

LAMS AMS with Overload is a ton of fun. Sometimes you when you're on Polar and the LRM boats are spamming, you just have to sit there and let it do its thing, unless you're carrying low heat weapons.

I'm very fond of running one regular AMS + one LAMS on 'mechs that can mount two. The heat is OK with only LAMS, and if you get really missile heavy games, the LAMS will keep firing after the regular one is out of ammo.

I recently got this game on Polar which felt like a T5 lurmfest. The missile just kept coming...and coming... and coming. Anyone have this beat?

The only benefit to LAMS is that they sound really cool.

In general there has been a ton of AMS. Got narced the other day on Polar, whole team had ams.. it was spectacular to watch.

Another note for those using AMS Overload on LAMS:

Since LAMS heat is generated on a per-second basis, having AMS Overload on also serves to reduce the total overall heat that you generate while using LAMS. This is because missiles get shot down in a shorter interval of time (due to higher DPS on each AMS unit), and that means that the LAMS is on for less time.

Why didn't the AMS protect you from the Narc missile?!

NARC missiles fired at a target close enough survive the AMS fire long enough to hit the target. He could also have been shooting down LRMs at the time the NARC hit or just had AMS disabled.

Man! I had no idea. I had a game once where my AMS kept going off for a few seconds and I didn't know why. Later I learned a guy kept trying to Narc me but I guess he was at longer range and kept failing.

That's what I've been doing on my builds that can run 2. The AMS helps knock down the swarms early on, and the LAMS is pretty neutral or manageable on most builds.

Though I've never gotten that kind of AMS score... that's impressive.
