Hi
I noticed on two maps now (grim portico and also frozen city) that in my assassin while I had stealth armor activated....I still dissipated heat. (and my er med laser at first didn't even generate heat until I fired it and the srms really continuously).
Is that really as planed? (the patchnotes originally didn't sound like that should happen....at least not on grim).

It probably isn't. But thank you for pointing it out.
We'll see if it gets fixed next month.

Well, hot maps affect Stealth armour (you gain heat constantly, even when not moving) so it only seem right that cold maps have the opposite effect..

That is what I'm not sure about as frozen was cold but the other I always thought of as one of the hotter maps

Temperature of the map shouldn't affect like that... Stealth Armor is supposed to turn off all heat dissipation, which means a constant increase at all times, in all conditions.

That is how I had read the original description of the armor yepp

Active Stealth armor negates the internal heat sink function, in a similar fashion to how the laser heat sinks on the night gyrs are unaffected by the map temperatures for heating/cooling.

I noticed this too when playing my PB on frozen city. It was a pleasant surprise. Not sure if its because the map is so cold it is actively cooling your mech from the outside or a bug. I wouldnt mind it staying in all honesty.

Grim Portico is a 'cold' map.
AFAIK there are only about 5 actual map temperatures (despite the fluff with specific °C values):
Very cold
cold
neutral
hot
very hot.
I think frozen is 'very cold' and Grim is 'cold'
some maps have hot spots in them (caldera on caustic for example) which are different to the main map temperature.
And the reaction of Stealth Armour to cold maps is expected and in line with the patch notes - they said you get no dissipation, but they also said its affected by map temperature (you gain heat while simply standing still on a hot map, which you dont on a neutral map). The obvious result then is that on a cold map, you lose heat slowly.
Tbh it doesnt matter a lot, since the only good use of Stealth armour is to be invisible to sniper vision on hot maps (thermal vision). I certainly would not use it for anything else - ECM by itself is perfectly fine for dorito denial, and doesnt have the insane drawbacks of no cooling and 2 slots used in both legs, both STs and both arms.
