With skill tree, and new tech, and old players returning i see lots more older mechs on the field doing well. With ST going on it's third month, and new tech it's second, i am sure people are finally getting a handle on what they are really liking. So outside of the Just upgrade to LFE and add some heat sinks, what mechs do you think have really seen new life?

Stalker Misery,

5ERMLs +UAC20, MRM30, LFE300
This mech has become even more fun. I now get to use that missile slot and not feel like it's a waste, and the UAC20 has really put some misery on people. The misery has always been my favorite assault anyway IS side, but man i am talking next level. (Again misery is going to make me some C-bills to expand my fleet)

Firestarter Ember, 4ERMLs+ 4 LGMs, LFE270.
A really nice peaker at range, and the LMGs mesh so much better.. Loosing a few KPH for more tanky is a pretty solid trade.

Cataphract, They all got a nice upgrade IMO
3D with dual UAC10's and 4 ERSL, with LFE280 is pretty darn cool. It pumps out damage at mid range, but when you close this thing really does well. B0th the OXP with ECM, 3L with MASC + UAC20+4ERMLs are also great.. Just choose if you want to run really fast, or get ECM.

Heavy Metal with a Light 280; 2 mrm 20's, uac 10, 3 M. It breathed life into a mech I haven't liked since the jump jet days.

I was having a lot of fun (and getting some pretty good results too) with this 2x snub PPC 2x MPL VND-1AA earlier, which definitely breathed some new life into it; this was the first build I tried that really made me appreciate how nice it is to have PPCs with no minimum range (without also being supernova hot like ER PPCs are).

The low slung arms can still be a problem, but if your goal is to get into brawling range anyways then it's a lot less of a problem, and the VND-1AA has some pretty respectable armor quirks on every component, and those beefy arms can absorb a lot of damage with good twisting, so it brawls pretty well in my experience.

It runs pretty damn hot of course, even with heat gen & operations skills, but chain firing works pretty well once the heat starts building up.

I also like this variation with a bigger engine and a RL10 and it even runs a bit cooler too, but less firepower in the long run obviously.

Mauler 1R w/ 2x Heavy PPCs + LFE + LRM 2x 15 ART

Warhammer 6R. Add ERSLx2, LMGx2, and an MRM10 along with an LFE, leave on the two PPCs and MLs, and enjoy an Unseen IS mech that runs like a Clan 70-tonner. I like it very much.

AC10 Rifleman, change out the ML for ERML, add LFE for another half ton ammo.

Jester with LFE, 4xERML, 2xLL, 2xJJ, 2xAMS, 2 tons ammo. Fast, nasty.

I actually re-bought the panther 10p now it runs the same load out but st has made the load out viable. Ac 5 and srm 6.

Haven't been doing much mwo since I got sniper elite 3 for sale and working more.
