Recently, I've shelved Marauders for much the same reason. It's like if I want to do well, I should only play Locusts and Blackjacks.

KFX JJs are really, really overrated. You lose so much leg structure, your already squishy legs become even squishier. You might as well go all the way if you're going to brawl with the purifier. 8 MiPL and fill it with as many heatsinks as it will fill, plus a TComp. Murder everything that comes close.
As for my cursed mech? Adders. I can make a Kit Fox work; I can't make an Adder work. I just...I don't know. I think I detest its cockpit too much.

When the MadCat was at it's peak, I sucked in it.
I had an average of 600 damage per match in my Awesome over thousands of games, but couldn't for the live of me eke any performance out of the MadCat, even thought it was a dream to pilot, and had everything going for it.
Now I have the MCMKII and i'm making up for lost time

Put me in a light and I'll have matches were I get 3-4kills and out damage all of charlie lance in the really good games. The bad ones i just die faster.
What is worse is that I've piloted the locust so much that even other fast lights doing 120-140 seem slow. 97kph and under I turn on the frame counter to make sure that mwo is working. Ironically even with all the fancy new tech and clans I still prefer my IS and when I decide to play some thing other than light I jump into a Catapult more often than not. founder C1 with nearly 810,000 historical xp on it including whatever it had to get the first 91 points. My cat still rocks almost stock load out with the bap, dhs, artemis upgrades. St I just went for as much range and velocity on the lrm.
Edit: Spider 5v and locust 1vp. ct only laser hard points just suck *** no matter what you shove in it and throw 55-60 points into fire power. The only reason I bought the hero panther was for those nice laser hard points spread out instead of its gorilla all weapon arm the other have. KK is rather good except for when you forget it is speed cap engine of 290 or 97kph. speed tweaked one of them just to see how fast it can go...124kph. You can't out run a line backer or enemy light with that slow speed.

I just can't get consistent results out of this mech.

Technically you could outrun a linebacker(115 kph?)

I agree. I thought kdk's were amazing until I piloted one. They have potential, but often they're just big, shiny damage magnets. Lol

My Anansi, in contrast, is sitting at a W/L of 1.8, and my AC20-trolling RVN-4X is at 2.13 (it's the only config I've ever run on it- honest!). There are 'Mechs in my stable that should be terrible but which I can't seem to even force a bad game in, but try as I might I can't pull my poor Oxide out of the septic tank.
I've got a couple other 'Mechs that are hard luck cases too- my Yen-Lo-Wang, my Roc, my GHR-5J... but all of them are either at the lower end of their class rankings, or are 'Mechs that I'm just bad in, so at least their bad stats make sense. None of them are as vexing as the Oxide. I should be good in that 'Mech. I do well with other punchy hit-and-run striker lights, even ones that are slower or larger or both. I never did anything unconventional with it- the config I was using should have worked, and the tactics I was using should have worked. Except... they didn't. At all. I haven't had a single good game in the thing- the handful of wins it has to its name were entirely down to the rest of the team.
I've slapped MRMs on it now just so I can hang back a bit more and maybe for once not die before even doing its own armor rating in damage, but I'm not hopeful. I haven't tried that yet because I'm sort of afraid to even drop in it anymore.

Really, any clam SRM boat in general, but especially the Pakhet. I just get torn up in that thing.

I recently applied AJ Light Orange to my Deathstrike. Didn't get one good game for the better part of two days (gotta admit, my idea of a "good game" might be asking for a bit much). I switched back to another colour and poof, matches became much, much better. I'm not superstitious and I know it's coincidence, but I had that happen with a few 'Mechs - different colour each and every time.

Same.
I have the TBR-C(S) from the Steam Heavy Performance pack, and even when the Timber Wolf reigned supreme, I always failed to put up great performances in it. It's hard to believe it, but the damn thing sits at a 0.5 WLR, making it the worst 'Mech I own. Would've sold it for C-Bills if I could.
