Funny news... the Terms of Use for Origin are against german laws for privacy. So far one of the bigger discounters in Germany ("Media Markt") built up warning signs in front of the shelves where Battelfield 3 is sold saying that buyers should be aware of the unclear legal state of the games activation plattform in Germany. Those stores are already giving back cash even when the game´s box has already been opened.
Well... here you go, EA.

ouch, sucks for EA, but then again I don't really have any sympathy for that company.. Incidentally, I don't use Origin either, but I did hear about people complaining that the TOS basically have spying clauses.. or something like that; I don't know the details.

Yeah, thats it. It collects all sort of data and in the beginning the EULA said that they are free to sell and do whatever they want with the data. Basically they implemented a Trojan collecting all kind of Data. And this is against german law...

Everything's against the law in Germany.
Not that I support EA of course, but every time I look at the news I read about something being illegal in Germany.

Given that steam's EU violates the same rules and hasn't suffered for it in legal consequences or loss of players...

Does it? Well... not in Germany... its not about collecting Data in general. Its about some more detailed stuff only laywers know about perfectly. Google Chrome, Steam etc. are not against the law in Germany. But at the moment Origin is.

Origin stopped me from getting a BF3 pre-order.
A certain group has released a bypass for legit owners of the game to bypass Origin... Lol.
And, as far as I know, EA updated their EU recently.

Yeah, I will willingly forego ANY game if it kept Origin off my system. I don't want EA getting their hooks into anything of mine,

That sounds so much like Maryland and Massachusetts here in the USA.

I bought BF3.... I haven't touched it since the first week. Its an amazing game. I really just don't want to jump through hoops to play it. Nor do I want EA knowing what kinda of **** I look at while waiting.
