You spent 9 months on testing something commonly known?

I mean, i have a few alts aswell, and i once tried if one could tank PSR aswell. I realized it wasn't really possible after 50 matches (even using the starting multiplier). 9 months seems pretty excessive.

The fastest method to rank in MWO is getting the highest possible matchscore every match. Play a laservomit assault, done. It doesn't really need testing to realize this.

PSR is tied mostly to matchscore and winning. If you stay around a w/l of 1, you will creep up no matter how bad you are individually. Which is why PSR is trash.

Sorry for my ignorance, but do people actually care about tiers?
It's an XP bar and there are crappy people everywhere, anyway.
Most MWO players don't have the slightest clue about tactics, don't understand choke points, don't understand range, suppressive fire, firing lines, just want to bravely and mindlessly suicide-brawl into the enemy and think that is how a tactical game is supposed to be played. This is the same in tier 1 as in other tiers.

Because tiers are just an XP bar. Don't look at them.

PSR is tied to matchscore. That is ALL. 100, 250, 400, them's the break points for increase or decrease values.

Interesting. Does this mean PGI has given up on the rank system?

Why would you want to tank you psr if MM does not even take it in account?

PSR does what pgi made it do.
It can separate complete newbies from players who understand how to pilot mech.
You leave newbie area a bit faster if you do good and a bit slower if you do bad.
