I used to pay atention to guass charge and decharge sounds to time my shots. However, at the moment this is hard as the decharge sound comes before the weapon actually decharges. Or at least there is a change or break in the sound, that sounds like the weapons is decharging.

The result is missfireing, usually in the ground, but from time to time at blue mechs.

I can use the dots around the crosshair, but I have several weapons with different indicators. It's not a trustworthy solution in the heat of battle.

Ok, I'm off the gauss until this is fixed.

Today a friendly walked in front of me while I was shooting an enemy. Annoying having friendlies blocking to secure a kill you have prepped, so I did not feel all that sorry for him, but instead of firing my gauss I intended to let it decharge and instead keep shooting my LRM's. As you might have guessed this did not happen. I let go of the trigger when I thought the safety was on, and fired two rounds in his back. Needless to say, it did not end well.

If you're a stand off player you might not have huge issues with this, but I'm usually within 300m and when the heat is on and the reflexes plays in, this is not so easy, even when I know I should wait a little after the sound. Remember, I also need to charge before the next shot. I can't spend time waiting before I charge my next shot. I need max DPS from this slow weapon.
