In the pre launch screen where you can see the names off all the players and chat there are some icons to the left of the faction icons and I was wondering what they were and how to get them. Most people seem to have a generic white portrait silhouette but there are many other icons that replace this and I'm not sure what to call it.

They're achievement badges. You get them for all sorts of stuff but the majority tend to come as bonuses in pack purchases or event rewards.
