Definetly a the Warhammer 6R like you said. I actually run a 2x LBX10 w/ 4 ERML on mine, which you didn't mention in your post, which attributes to just how flexible it is.
I also have ran the new version of the boomhammer on it with 2 UAC20s. A dangerous pair on CQB maps like HPG.

What do you mean it's an incredibly niche mech and doesn't really fit the "multipurpose" part? SHUT UP!

Scorpion pilots in TT were evil buggers. Especially once they figured out how to climb with them.
My poor poor Urbanmech was never the same again after that Scorpion touched him...
Stalker,Wolverine,Roughneck,Uziel(if you can get past its goofy size). Hunchbacks,Shadowhawks are both old tech solid workhorses too.

Are you talking about in game or just in general? If you are referring in general:
The Rifleman IIC 1 and 8. The Prime can be taken out of it's role and preform very well with it's 4 large pulse lasers, or whatever energy weapon mounts you decided to throw on it. I use the Rifleman IIC 8 as my go-to mech for almost any situation since it can brawl with SRM's and ECM, pick off enemies with the ER LL's, and pepper them with AP Gauss rifles. On top of that I had alot of success with it on mech simulations.
If you are talking about in game I don't have a favorite multipurpose clan Battlemech (yet) but for the IS I would have to say the Mauler. I used to brawl with the MX-90 to some degree with boating AC2's while laying some suppression fire over longer ranges with it.

Bushwacker all the way, I have an x1 and I love it. Runs at 85 with my LFE or 90 with an xl. Tanky enough, fast enough, and allows for any build you want except maybe laser vomit. I still run mine with a snub or LL most of the time though so still works great there.

Marauder 5D. Excelent profile for any engagement, high mount supports Heavy PPC nicely for direct fire at long range, LRM 15+Artemis x2 is reasonable damage for indirect fire, and then four medium pulse lasers are usually 'all you need' in close quarters if you play with proper awareness. Even has a mount for AMS if you're so inclined.
Gotta agree here especially after this future-tech update. MRM and other assorted IS goodies can really be leaned on pretty well if you have the right mechs to support them. Then again my bias towards the Marauder chassis as a whole is notorious.

Mauler 1P, you can pretty much make what ever you want with 2 energy, 4 missle and 4 ballistic slots.
