So i had an advanced zoom module.. but i cannot find it now. I also cannot find a place to put one, if i had one... yet i spectated someone using one. Can someone point me in the right direction here?

Also, formerly you had to gain xp on 3 variants in order to use modules and such... is that no longer the case?

so from what i'm seeing, the new xp tree does not require other variants.. just one.

Still no info on the advanced zoom. i found where targeting computers enhance it.... but still can't find where to get one / earn one.

It's in the sensor tree. All the way to the right at the top. Need just 4 points in the tree to get it.

And the sensor tree is in skills. Check the skills tab when you have mech open in mechbay.

You never had to have multiple varients to use modules, but you did need to own and skill up 3 varients to fully unlock the skill tree, including an extra module slot
That is no longer the case, you can fully skill a Mech with never having owned another

Skills have been entirely redone from the old days. You no longer need to have three variants of a mech to unlock every skill, and there are no longer tiers at all. There are no longer Pilot Skills, nor are there Modules. Everything is done per-mech in a 91-point skill tree. In the Mech Lab, hit Skills, and you'll be taken to the skill tree of your selected mech. From here you can convert C-Bills and XP/GXP into Skill Points, and you can then spend those Skill Points in your tree.

For Advanced Zoom, you're going to want to go to the Sensor tree, and it's the top-right leaf, four points in. Once you unlock that skill, that mech has Advanced Zoom and you activate it with V by default. There is no module to equip, you have Advanced Zoom always and forever (unless you respec out of it) by virtue of having the skill unlocked.

I had to have it because I do not see well. The enemy is taking out my left shoulder and I'm just aiming at the red area, lol. I ALWAYS TARGET.

I was told here that that should not be the first one you buy and you should not use it anyway. And it does slow down your targeting and thus shooting. But, I do not see well so...

I was told RADAR DERP first and they were right (grrr, they are alright right here). Seismic is also good.

But I had Kit Foxes so I did not need Radar Derp and I might be the only player here that whose first module was AMS Overload and AMS range. NOW, it seems like everyone has it and everyone has AMS.

I use SCROLL BACK to use my zoom. That works a lot better than trying to hit V. I do not like to take my fingers off of movement buttons.
