Best Hero Is Assault?

Looking to get a Hero IS Assault.
Which is the better one? Especially if I prefer (in order), Lasers, Ballistics. And if I HATE missiles.
Looking at:
~ King Crab
~ Cyclops
~ Mauler
Which is the overall better hero assault for IS? Already have the battlemaster.
Thanks and Regards.

Mix in some ll or er lls for long range poking. When the lights get thick you can mount the is streak missiles since they lock on and track. Lights avoid mechs with streaks.
No idea about the other two except the cockpit of the cyclops very much reminds me of the old tie fighter games.

My money is actually on Seipnir. It i would say a more nimble mauler for dakka -- larger torso turn angle, better torso turn rate. I mean honestly it's not even contest against the Mauler.
Kaiju sounds awesome, but really it's strange to build even as a King Crab aficionado. I have one.
It's not a good brawler due to low missile count, still goes pretty hot with energy weapons and not a good mix with brawlers, not as good as ballistic platform due to low hardpoint count and ability to put multiple UAC10s or AC20s, nor SRM platform unless you're mounting dual LRM20As which you shouldn't do.
To be fair though, the high mounted ballistic is nice but other than that, it's not as powerful due to low amount. Really, the Kaiju is just for the sake of being different, and novelty, it's not i would recommend if you're looking for performance. You can do different things, but whether they work -- you have to make them work.
Ballistics is actually better on torso, unless you're planning on torso energy heavy on the Mauler, in which case a battle-master would actually work better. So i wouldn't put my money on Knockout.

He said Hero IS. So he must've been talking about Kaiju, which you can't mount two AC20s.

Of the 3 mentioned, prob the only one worth using is the Sleipnir

4 LB10X or 4 (U)AC5 are my boring, unoriginal loadouts for it. Tried RACs, wasn't a fan.
I did prefer the Knockout for a short time, when there was no Gauss/PPC ghost heat crossover and I could mount the 'splodey Gauss in the arms. I should probably look at an AC/SRM build for it...
So, go buy that Sleipnir

Misery, I just love it. My old build was 2LL+ac20+2MPL's My new build is UAC20+5ERML+MRM20 It's just gotten better. I run the mech in my FW drop deck. I can pull in 700+ games in it more than any other assault, and the UAC just takes stuff out. IT does run hot though.
It is my best assault, but i play brawler style,. But i tend to play the pushing front line, sacrifice for the team. My best mechs are heavies and mediums.
I have lots of other heroes, but they are mostly lights/meds.. My fav over all is my Jester

I don't think it's possible to press 2 AC20 or Gauss into 1 side torso.

You got the normal KGC.
Can't say much about the KGC hero as I've yet to see one. The main difference to the other variants is the swap of laser and ballistic hardpoints. You get 2 high ballistic hardpoints and 3 energy hardpoints in each arm.
Not sure how good that turns out. I guess it will be pretty hot and the ballistic hardpoints are limited.
The Mauler would make a good brawler with its hardpoints, but the quirks are just bad. No armor, minimal structure, but LRM quirks...
Out of the 3 listed mechs, I think the Sleipnir wins.
Cyclops is a pretty solid mech.

6 energy hardpoints, for of them in its shoulders, 3 Rockethardpoints, 50% environmental heat reduction, XL-friendly (even more sturdy with LE) enginerating up to 400 and due to its tonnage quite FP friendly.

Hellslinger only has 4 high mounted energy. 2 are mounted on the lower arms.
