Waiting To Play Time.

On average it takes 3 minutes of waiting before playing for 6 minutes.
How about removing the ready up "feature" and reducing the load times? Maybe even make re spawns for public queues, that would also reduce the domino death effect that makes almost every game a zerg/stomp/roll etc.

Now as far as other things to make it quicker, how about random maps and having mode selection option like we had before? That would at least reduce the wait a little bit. 8v8 might help too since it doesn't have to look for as many people.

And faster stomps so you can re-drop faster to get stomped faster to ready up faster.
Shorter waits, maybe, for faster games and quicker stomps.
Now all 8 HAVE to rely on each other to carry themselves or else, stomp. One DC, match is over. One AFK, match over. Suicide, same thing. That LRM Raven on your side? Game over.
I patiently await the salty tears from all the supporters of 8v8 and how bad it really will be for play and bringing out the worse QP habits. Going to be fun to point and laugh....

its not really a bandaid since 8v8 fixes way more problems than queue times
1) increases TTK back to where it should be
2) helps make long range meta less dominant since no more 12 mech firing lines
3) light and medium mechs are less obsolete in 8v8
4) individual skill gets blotted out less
8v8 is just plain better

On topic: I think we could reduce in-match wait timer by 30 seconds or so. If somebody doesn't connect while it's at 30 seconds, that person will probably never connect anyway

Most of 8v8 supporters actually did played 8v8 before and agree it was better than 12v12.

i have my reservations about 8v8. i did not play in beta (blame living legends) so i only know 12v12. id actually like to see this in fp to increase the rate of game formation.

You're gonna love 8v8 then. The wait times should drop a fair bit, and the quality of drops should improve, too.
Oh, and OP, respawns would be awesome, especially if they modeled their gameplay format like MechWarrior Living Legends. This game would rise to the level of incredible.

FP might as well go 4x4. 'Less' always seems to be 'more' for PGI.

Bandaid is easy and fast to implement as stop-gap measure. PGI can put on a bandaid while they find a way to address the issue. Besides, with MWO so resource intensive as is, 8v8 will help more players to actually play this game with good FPS in the first place.

You mean the improvement that because games in 8v8 SQP are shorter more of your total time is spent in lobbies, watching scenery running to get to the enemy to even get to fight, a fight that is then over in a very short time and landslide prone with even likely reduced TTK, and lets not forget the fantastic loading screens repeated more frequently?
I'm sure OP will be thrilled when he gets even more of exactly what he didn't want because 8v8 zealots talk about it as if it was a cure to all ailments when it's at best a placebo and at worst a direct regression of MWO casual gaming as we know it.
8v8 is the opposite to improvement especially in this regard, and you know it.
What OP wants is essentially a prolonged warfare mode with plenty of mechs in play and possibly even respawns in a casual context, and holy hell do I want that too.
