Hello MechWarriors. Got an idea for PGI to get paid to implement IK AND Quads, at the same time.

Step 1.Introduce Scorpion Mech Pack. Charge more for them because quads.
Step 2.Name Hero Mech "Juodas". Charge even more for them because quads.
Step 3.Promise IK starting with Quad Mechs, eventually trickling down to Bi-ped Mechs.
Step 4.Never get around to IK for Bi-ped Mechs.
Step 5.???
Step 6.Profit! Literally!

Not only for Quads, but for another player inspired hero to go with it like the K-9.

An IK funding pack would be nice, but I get the feeling that the main reason they decided against implementing it was (staff) resource related. I'd dearly love to see it return, but not enough to delay the new maps and whatnot coming down the pipeline.

To be fair. The reason new maps are delayed... was for other new maps.

Because Solaris.

Which I look forward to.

With how map voting goes on, we dont really need new maps. It will be Grim Plexus all day anyway, so no point.

IK's return and then non-return is just another of PGI's broken promises to me. When I get up the energy I'll go mark another one on my chalkboard.

I rather see a map funding pack.

To be honest, I'm not sure why IK has to involve hit reg in the first place, why can't it just be client-side calculations? Pretty that's how MW4 was given it would be silly to sync that up in the netcode (since you are already sending positional data not sure what else you need to calculate IK for legs).

If it's just client side, then the player will aim at a leg that looks nicely and realistically positioned... And shoot the ground, because the server doesn't know anything about this.

Ehhhh, I don't know that IK would have that large of an impact on missed shots but it is a fair point.

It would have far less impact than the thousands of invisible !@#$ walls on the current map selections that we've been dealing with for years now.

Perhaps larger foot hitboxes would help to alleviate the problem? There are simple solutions, I think, to this problem but it'd still require effort and a lot of money.
