So... round two of these apparently. Today Marauder BH, AC20, 6MPL's ... im riding my heat bar. Front armor in tact (barely) CT structure 100% (or high, yellow / whatever) rear armor thrown to the gods at olympus.

Facing a few mechs I fire the MPL's for maximum effect since my 1 click the AC20 was on cooldown... he shoots me, but then i explode?! Maker has killed Maker... (wtf!?) I mean i'd have died either way I'm sure, not trying to say the encounter would have played out differently. Anyway wtf!? i mean I've done this before and had it do like... minor minor damage to the CT structure... never have I had it boil me to death. especially when my front armor is still there. CT might have been ripped off while I was down though. If that'd explain why then there ya go, case closed, move on.

Thats normal. You take structure damage when you overheat.

I'm not sure if the bug has been fixed already or not, since it stopped happening to me around the same time the last post was made here, but for those who may be interested...

I've done a fair bit of troubleshooting with this bug and have found that, as someone above I believe mentioned, the problem is in the client side heat gauge. The heat gauge displays the incorrect heat value, so while in reality you may only have 50% heat gauge, your client shows it as having been over 100% without damage for a while.

Likewise with shutting down and taking damage at less than 100%, the heat gauge on your client shows say only 50%, whereas in reality you're running around with 100%+ heat.

The bug appears to remain consistent from match to match using the same mech... as in all my AWS-8R games presented the same, all my games with my dual ATM9 SHC presented the same, etc. Other than that I couldn't figure out any consistency to it... the bug appeared whether I was using newtech or not, whether I was clan or IS, whether I was in a light, medium, heavy, or assault, didn't seem to follow engine size or number of heatsinks, or heat rating in mechlab.

I posted specific tests and results in another thread at https://mwomercs.com...heating-glitch/ if anyone's interested.

Since you brought the issue, when I pilot my MDD-BA equipped with two ATM 12, I have a strange feeling that when the heat gets over the threshold (override always on), the mech cools more efficiently. For example, the fight begins and fire my pair of ATM 12 constantly, the heat builds up but when it reaches the threshold limit, the cooling efficiency suddenly gets even and I can keep firing then constantly, if I cease to fire, the heat bar begins to go down immediately.
