Just a bored little mind exercise on getting gud:

So I'm bored of this game, and trying to find a reason to keep playing. So I've come up with a short list of what to practice. Hopefully like minded people can add their own list of never to be used mwo lessons. Formats gonna crappy cause frankly this is mind scrabbles.

1) Return fire in an enemy's down time.
# Shoot them after they shoot and are recharging
# Shoot them when they are shooting someone else

2) Continue firing for your buddies
# Fill in the blank space in fire exchange when your team mate's weapons are recharging
# Be - aware of the return fire tho.

3) Cover for you buddy when appropriate
# If your buddy is a face melter but pulled too much aggro, buy him some time to melt another face... somehow.

4) Shoot from where it is safe.
# Engage from the blind sides of contacts. Avoid direct face to face fire lines.

5) Check your mini map and battle grid to find enemy location and count, like there is no tomorrow
# This is so you can avoid skill less face to face fire exchanges. (my gun is bigger huer de huer)

6) Always enter with an escape route and plan layers deep
# Plan ahead of your opponents actions and positions for you own actions and movement, and consequently what each will cause.
# Know what your actions will cause.
# Know what your actions will cause.
# Know what your actions will cause.

7) Know the big picture
# Get a sense of the herd mentality and the trends that group actions tip off.

8) Trigger discipline
# Don't shoot when it isn't worth it, or will aggro you, or give you away, etc etc.

9) Don't pause to admire your work
# When the deed is done keep moving to the next.
# If it needs to be a killing blow make sure they are dead tho.

10) Don't cut in front of friendlies
# Don't be greedy for dealing damage, don't sabotage your team by causing friendly fire and extra heat for your allies.

11) Check yourself before you focus
# Look left, look right, pop your battle grid, make sure your safe before you commit to a snipe

Please keep the format of
1) Thing
# Explaination.

Please don't pollute this with memes and me me me comments.
Also please don't parrot. Only post things that you have really reflected on and actively practice, not just stuff that sound neat but is really trash or if you have no idea if it works or not.

Don't follow directly behind friendlies when they're cresting a hill or checking a corner. They might need to retreat promptly and you'll be blocking they're only reasonable escape route.

Always lock your opponent as soon as you can see him. The information is vital for the whole team.

If you see a cluster of enemies that your teamates may be unaware of, call them out to your team w map grid if poss (you can't lock them all). Even if you died due to overextending, at least you can help the team with some intel (resist the urge to instantly ragequit before doing this).

Ditto you notice a stealthed enemy operating behind your lines.

1) Stay mobile.
# Camping in one spot enables the enemy team to flank, surround and slaughter you.

2) Keep up your rate of fire. Don't hide behind cover.
# Collective aggression wins matches. Teams that hide get worn down and lose.

3) Use the 'R' key when targeting enemies.
# It shows you vulnerable components to aim for, and helps your team see the 'shape' of the battle.

If you move towards a crest or corner at speed

i.e not cautiously edging towards it.

Expect your retreat to be cut off as those behind you will, possibly be supporting your 'push'

Use LRMs and any other troll build you can find just so you can die faster. Bonus points if you're in an assault (for the love of god don't do this)
