So I've been trying very hard to get Mechwarrior 4 Mercenaries to full screen but to no luck and I'm at wits end.
I've been on at least 80 different forums and nobody to my knowledge had my exact issue.
I'm on windows 8.1 and tried the trouble shooting compatibility for windows 8/7/Vista/XP to no luck and tried changing screen rez manually to my native screen rez but the setting keep getting reset.
The error message is "STOP: Another application is preventing use of full screen."
The game runs and plays but just won't full screen.
I'm on window 8.1 and using MW4:M MekTek 3.1

I have it running on Win7.
Been struggling to get it running on my kid brother's Win10
All I can say is that full-screen was the default.

I fixed my issue.
I just needed to match my computer's screen rez with the game's supported rez.
Who knew it was something so simple.
Also I found MW4:M on mybandonware.com in case anybody was wondering.
