All the "pro" units seem to be clanside avoiding each other, really bad sportsmanship play: spawncamping, strikespamming, meta hugging and trashtalking all add up to IS not queueing up so much.
Reap what ye sew.

Another totally unfounded claim.

BCMC, MS, 420m, IREX are all IS as of 3 days ago. I'd imagine some others have as we'll, although I have played a total of 3 games this week so I'm not totally across everyone's movements.

That said some of the above mentioned units have seemingly gone inactive while IS. I find this to be odd.

So they moved back after a week lol, near enough :P

Near enough, I keep on top of most movements (and have a rough idea of who's contract is when) just so I know where we should be headed to try and get reasonably challenging matches.

Problem is Oceanic is now the most-dead it has ever been. Doesn't matter which side you are on :(

Also, no where did I complain about anything; I was sharing how much fun we had Posted Image

I dunno but your OP reads like a complaint/whinge.

If there was sarcasm in there, you did an incredibly bad job of it.

Didn't you know that all units belong to a hive mind?

No, wait. Even better.

All merc units gather every week around a black table in a dark, smokey room to discuss the details of how to screw over the pug players and avoid getting matches with each other. Oh, and plan where to set up chemtrails and how best to help the lizard people control the government. Used to also manage the Illuminati, but MS handled that and they broke up.

The reality is actually a lot more cruel, in its way. Pugs are literally the last and least factor involved in anyone's decision making. Merc team switch sides based on who's bitching to play their favorite mechs the loudest. Some players like Clan mechs, some IS. In FW because of the mobility, survivability and higher alpha, Clan mechs tend to play a bit better so there's some overall gravity that way.

The only way pugs influence decisions in most units is if the unit isn't filling 12s consistently they will gravitate to Clans because so many IS pugs are so painfully bad and at times intentionally useless.

Can confirm, took an IS contract and holy **** I've never seen as many sub-500-damage-over-4-mechs pilots as I have this week.

The trouble is faction play has no real point.

...at all. There's nothing going for it. Worse, the quickplay doesn't tie into it in any way. There's no real reward for winning or losing. No sense of accomplishment and whatever you do get done, well lets be honest they're gonna reset it anyway.

That's pretty much it.
And for most of the MC, you gotta have a big team. If you don't, there isn't much point to play it for MC. The big thing is the general every person has no real reason to step into it. The game itself has no real point.

It's not like taking over this planet will help with factory production, or defending this planet will ensure you have better trained pilots.
Nothing really makes a difference if the Lyrans pull out of the alliance as it'll be the same either way.
What's this, the Liao and the Davions hate each other?
Well sucks, but no infighting here.
Oh wait, Clan Wolf just took this territory for asteroid factory production facility as the first endo-steel resource that the Clans have in Inner Sphere space; without it they would have to rely on shipments of endo steel to fix their precious endo steel mechs like the Timber Wolf. But the Jade Falcon want it!

"Logistics will matter."
Nope.

"Got to coordinate your supplies."
Nope.

"Bid for planets."
Nope. Just who has the biggest group and plays the most matches. There's no way to compete with that.

"Build your base."
....Can you say it for me? 'Cause this one's obvious.

"Your unit funds will matter for defenses, for additional dropships to carry more mechs, for..."
Recruitment costs, and you need real money for additional drop decks. Having an additional dropdeck does not allow you to carry more mechs into the field.

I could go on, but that should be plenty right there.

[420] here.. we owned 25+ planets.. there is no benefit to owning more than 6. the MC cap means we have no reason to play.

zzzzzz some playing pubg, some playing battletech multiplayer, some doing IRL stuff

next phase better have something for us.. *looking at you FP devs*

What about the challenge? I can easily understand how some good groups could find FP boring. In fact it's difficult to understand from that perspective why so many have taken Clan side. Maybe owning weaker players is rewarding on small doses.
