Maybe if the mech shuts down after you flamed it you'll get rewarded?
Or how about killed? TAG has a reward for your TAGged target getting mashed to death by LRMs, so why not something similar for a Flamer?
Sincerely, someone who recently picked up the Firestarter

Nah, flamers already reward you enough by potentially shutting down the opponent, or make him explode. What I do want is to have IS flamer to be more potent than Clan flamer. Cause Clan one costs only 0.5 ton while IS one costs one full ton.

Flamers and MGs are only in MWO as curtsey towards Battletech fans (like me) where those pieces of equipment where found on many mechs as backup versus hard to hit infantry.
They where never meant as primary valid anti armor or anti mech equipment and their impactin MWO is already much greater than it where in TT.
Just put themem where they belong as long as there are no infantry elemental or unarmored vehicles and forget them.

Flamers are alright. In 1 v 1 they are useless, but in a 2 v 1 or even 2 v 2 with focus fire flamers work well.
While one friendly mech uses flamers to heat up the enemy mech the other friendly mech is also free to shoot at the same enemy mech. The enemy mech in turn is unable to shoot back or the results are as El Bandito mentioned; shut down or explode.
In 1 v 1 though best way to deal with a flamer mech is to not shoot until it stops flaming you. If enemy mech uses flamers and shoots others it has the same result as if you where to shoot while being flamed; shut down or explode.

^This.
I also want flamers to look like actual flames and not some ****** flashlight.
