Hey Guys,

Ok there is a mech sale. (20% off Mech packs)

I already own some of the Mech packs on sale.

I cannot buy another Mech pack that I already own.


It seems a bit of an odd (business practice) that I cannot give PGI more money for some extra of their product.



Any thoughts?

Does the sale apply to the Mechs in the game store?

It does not seem to be highlighted in the in game store.


Am I missing something?

(other than a few extra Marauders )

Nope. Working as intended.

I've never understood why PGI does this. You can buy a dozen Mastery Packs if you so choose, but the basic, collectors and heroes packs of modern times you are limited to 1 real money purchase per account. I'm sure they have a reason for it but damned if I know what it is.

More than likely it's because PGI never thought someone would want to do this and for some reason don't want people to spend money on duplicates.

Why would you buy a mech pack you already own? If you absolutely have to give PGI money, why not buy one you don't already own? Or buy mech credits? Or heck, gift a mech pack to someone?

The funny thing is, you can only buy one Standard/Collector/Hero/Ultimate pack... but with Clan Wave I/II/III, Resistance I/II, Origins IIC you can buy the pack AND A La Carte stuff you already have and receive duplicate C-Bill bonus mechs if you wanted. When you redeem the stuff when you login, it most likely won't show up (because according to the database you already have a copy) but you can email support and they'll toss it in.

Can confirm since way back i went and A La Carte'd TBRs then over a year later bought the Mad Cat pack, emailed support and they even offered to upgrade to Masakari and $25 worth of stuff in addition.

Imo if you wanted another Collector mech and already own one, i don't see why you can't get another.

Some of us have enough varied builds and like a chassis that much that we have duplicates.

Can you activate a gift code? Or does that not work. I would contact CS and see if that is an option. But really, i have zero idea why PGI would limit you to just one.

As a previous poster mentioned, some chassis are so good for a player that they want multiple copies for drop decks or specific skill builds, etc.
Another reason to consider to go along with this is that older Mechpacks have Banked premium time as a part of their purchase, and they remain in that format even though the newer packs have Active. If you were thinking of getting a couple of repeat chassis that you already own, you spend 20 USD for a basic Mechpack and get close to 16.00 USD in value from the 30 days of Banked Premium time & the 3 mech bays, and end up spending about 4 actual bucks for the 3 mechs. That's a pretty okay deal if it's something you were tempted to buy a repeat of.

That is what i said But certainly contact CS first to make sure it works. Heck Maybe PGI can directly inject them into your account as an option. I don't really know the stance on this subject.
