Is there a mech that personifies OCD lol.

The Mad Cat II, as they have perfectly symmetrical hardpoints and geometry (we do not speak of the A Posted Image).

Mine would be the Cyclops 11 variants. Love having the Dakka on one side with the Bada-Boom on the other. Probably why I'm also partial to the Bushwacker S2 despite everyone else riding in all the others but not that one.

Grasshopper. I'm tall, lanky, and ugly to look at, but at least I'm decent at the game

Supernova SNV-A.. Since I'm a half-vampire that hates sunlight, It creates shade. Big, slow, shines bright when it counts, best when part of a team.

Also, Crusader. I used to be cool, a long time ago. Nowadays if you even show my picture you'll get sued.

annihilator, big, slow, hard hitting, nihilistic, and doesn't get much done.

So, maybe it's just me, but, wouldn't it make more sense / be more fun to just post your 'Mech and have the next poster make some assumptions about you based on the 'Mech (and build) in question?

Oookay... Yeah. YEAH! Let's do that. Why not? So here's the mech I feel "is me" in MWO even though my mech of choice in the Battletech franchise overall would be another one (TDR-5S Thunderbolt, if you're curious):

Semi-stock Grand Dragon:
I took a Flame hero Dragon and basically turned it into a DRG-5K Grand Dragon, or as close as I could reasonably come.
ER PPC in the right arm, LRM 10 in the CT and 3 medium lasers in the left arm and side torso hardpoints. Gave it AMS because sometimes it's a rainy day.

Endo steel, of course. The remaining weight goes primarily to the XL engine (I think I went higher than the 360 for a stock Grand Dragon, but memory fails me as to how much higher), DHS, A few tons of ammo for the AMS and LRMs and the rest to getting the armor as thick as possible.

Why? Because I wanted a Grand Dragon and the Dragon was the first mech I ever tried in MWO back in Closed Beta. May not be a metamech (it's definitely not a metamech!), but despite it all the Dragon is the mech I'd miss the most if it were to disappear from the game, and I just like the way it "feels" when I run it.

So. Who am I, based on my mech?

Sorry. I can't resist:

You are, like many of us, yet another 40ish year old nostalgic lorenerd who really wants this game to be something that it is not. You want a mech to be useful at all ranges and be useful in all situations, but most of all you are someone who longs for something that does not exist.
You are someone who really wants their Leatherman all-in-one utility tool to be capable of replacing a garage full of tools...even though you know better...because damn it, that's what was promised to you.
You are a dreamer.

I believe I must admit you pretty much hit the bullseye. Good gunnery skill there, mechwarrior. Posted Image

Marauder-3R
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...b48ddbb2652b276

Fierce: Can hold its own against much larger, heavily armed opponents and causing lighter mechs to think twice.

Versatile: Despite its weight, its battlefield agility allows it to be where it needs to be, when it needs to be there to protect slower assets in the rear or bringing fight to the enemy, sharing its armor on the front.

Defiant: Will continue fighting to the bitter end, requiring its opponents to dismantle it bit by bit, location by location.

Stoic: It understands its role on the battlefield, and will make the required sacrifices to insure its objective is met.

The Marauder has a long brutal history and has taken many forms over its lifetime, yet endures to this day. It has found itself in the middle of real world chaos and debate, yet the mere mention of this classic makes any LoreFan or Old Timer smile and “Remember when” about a personal encounter with the one, even if it was on the opposite side.

There are several chassis that I relate to on a personal level, but really thinking about it and comparing notes, this mech and I have more in common than just a 20 year tabletop love affair. Maybe as in real life, you simply grow attached to a piece of equipment that you come to trust and rely on. It becomes more than just machine, it develops a personality. You begin to synch with it. You know how it handles, how it feels and how it speaks to you through the hums and whining of everyday operation.

Those of you who’ve been there, know what I mean.

Timber Wolf Prime, with two Heavy Large Lasers, two Heavy Medium Lasers, and two ATM9s. Max armor, a CAP, and filled the rest with heat sinks and ammunition. Dumped my skill tree into firepower and operations.

Cool under pressure--to an extent. Sometimes the heat from all those heavy lasers builds up a bit and results in an overload. Posted Image

A Classic. Not the newest or best, but still one of the absolute coolest. Still able to function well with new tech, though the old stuff can be just as fun.

Versatile. Jack of a lot of trades, and even a master of some.

Workhorse. Gets the job done, not as flashily as some of the other guys, but quickly, correctly, and completely.

Strong. Better hit it first or you might not get another chance. Though it has mellowed out a good bit in the time since middle school.

Persistent. Nothing'll mess you up more than when the shielding on your reactor gets cracked. But you can duct tape that S.O.B. back together, flush your coolant, and get right back in the fight.

Catapult-k2 with rac/5s. I can chew through anything if I can sit there and focus on it, but I'm big and slow and tend to crumple under pressure. Also, I can't jump.
